I am a padres fan and love Juan Soto, wish he was still a padres.....as much as I love Soto, for $600 Million wouldn't you rather spread that out and fill in multiple positions of need like 1B, RF, SP, and CP? Like maybe Christian Walker or Goldschmidt, or even Alonso for 1B. Anthony Santander for RF, SP you have many options Burnes, Fried, etc.CP Tanner Scott?

Soto doesn’t generate billions like Shohei does in Japan. Whatever he is paid will be an overpay. Red Sox sign Aroldis. Next Soto. The rivalry resumes. Massively. Good for the game.

I can’t wait for Soto to sign already. All these rumors. This new free agent agreement sucks. It’s bad for the game. Everything stops until the top free agent signs. That’s not right. 600 million to 700 million dollars contracts. I used to be for the players. But sometime is really wrong. Almost 1 billion dollars to play baseball. I love baseball but this is crazy money now. That’s more money then countries have.

Yup! Just ONCE! Once I want a top guy Free agent come out and negotiate a contract for himself of $600M and then turn around and say with a caveat. You take $150M of it and go sign another top tier free agent guy. ONCE. Just to prove the point of how much money is enough? Especially when you were rich before you were a free agent to begin with. It wasn’t like Soto was on a rookie min deal. Cmon…..

I think Soto wants to go somewhere that he can be the guy. If he goes to the Yankees again he always will be under the shadow of Judge as the Captain. Not saying Judge is better or worst but he is the captain and Soto isn’t.
