For those who don't know: this Brazilian version of Marley's song is very old and was a big hit in Brazil in the late 70s. I remember listening to it in my childhood with my grandpa Ramiro in the 90s (he passed away in April. R.I.P vovô!).

So very sorry for your massive loss. My half my grandparents died before I ever had a chance to meet them. The other two died when I was a little kid, so again I never had a chance to know them. I was out of college in 1970, so I’m a tad older than you. 😂 Just a tad. I consider being old 15 years older than my current age (no matter my current age), so I’m still kinda young. I keep this thought in my head, it helps. Age is only important anyway if you’re a cheese, and sometimes a wine. 😆 Bob Marley is my hero, and I could, and have, listened to him 24/7 back in “my day.” He spoke some beautiful words, passed on wise thoughts. He was a very special person and the world lost a precious soul. Thankfully, he has family and friends to carry on until we all meet again one day. For those who don't know, this version of the song was released on a 70s album in homage to the work of Bob Marley and the Wailers. The name of the album is "Kaya naGan' daya", which is a play on words between Kaya, a figure very present in Reggae culture and others, and a Brazilian expression for partying: "caia na Gandaia", something like "throw yourself into the fun"

The chorus of this song "Everything is gonna be alright" are the words that a parent would use to comfort a child through a difficult moment. Growing up we learn to reinforce that belief with positive thoughts and energy to be able to live happy and prosperous lives. In 2024 I feel now that I can't say that to my kids when they are struggling, or having an emotional meltdown. We can't be so sure that things will be alright anymore in this age. Life seems so precarious.
