The NOAA warning wasn't triggered by the northern lights. They issued a warning prior to the event.

Yeah that would make more sense. They predict them once they detect one has erupted as it whiplashes out towards the planets. Last time(last year?) mar was in the way I believe and shielded us some. It seems like they’re overreacting about these or we should be really concerned. lol

2025 is peak solar activity for this cycle they need to be telling people this is going to happen next year also and slowing get less intense over the next 10 years as the cycle ends

In 1987 I saw the Northern Lights in south Florida on Alligator Alley and it was dark as dark. These were yellowish and greenish.

Grand Coulee, Washington checking in, (Eastern WA). Out in the scablands they were brighter than I have seen here. The whole sky was flashing like the glow of a candle in the wind. It was crazy how fast and how big the flashes were.

there is nothing "fancy" or complex about a CME. They happen all the time, are well understood, and generally not an "emergency". As for effects on comms and power systems, most power systems are supposed to be built to withstand such effects, and while the Chinese crap most people buy are fragile, the military grade stuff is mostly protected from a CME like this one. So stop with the fear mongering. Also, go buy a clue. The women just sounded clueless on this clip.

These solar storms have been happening off and on all summer. We have been able to see these in the Midwest about 10 times so far. Could these large solar discharges be causing the higher temperatures we've seen? I would imagine that they do, right?

@@joannego856 I read somewhere that In May 2013, the site shut down during a change in operations contractors. At the time, the HAARP program manager told reporters that the site was temporarily closed and locked, with only one DARPA project left to wrap up by early 2014., the Air US Air force has also stopped funding with haarp, but I don’t believe they actually shut down
