Noah sounds more like the vulnerable teenager that Evan is supposed to be. I love Ben Platt as Evan, but his voice is so strong, and Noah makes the vulnerability that Evan is supposed to have come out. I love both of them as Evan, but I admit that I like Noah so much more than when he first started this role.

Emmy Poling interesting, he sounds endlessly more confident and less emotional and connected than Ben. Ben nailed it. This falls short imo. The changes he made to the song, the performance. Can't buy it. He doesn't seem vunerable or connected to the character at all. Just sounds like a guy awkwardly singing the entire thing without emotion or connection.

I agree that he plays a more “teenagery” Evan. But in my mind, I always felt like the songs where it’s just him talking to himself and not others, displaying his true character are the one place where he’s supposed to be strong. So you see that he just can’t communicate that side of him when he’s around others.

Salty When is ur show? He’s only playing Evan until the middle of January. Well if u have him, u wont be disappointed. I had a show a few weeks ago and I was really sad at first that I wouldnt be able to see the amazing Ben Platt, but Noah ended up being AMAZINGGG. I get that he isnt Ben Platt, but in my opinion, he’s really close. He was absolutely amazing during the show, and I’m not even sad anymore that I couldn’t see Ben Platt. Of course, Ben Platt will always be the best Evan, he basically IS Evan, but you cant find anyone else better than Noah.

I️ understand but also keep in mind NOAH is not the same person as BEN! Stop comparing them and love them for their equal talent. I️ personally think that Noah is actually perfect for the role seeing his voice actually sounds like a 17 year old (EVANS AGE) while Ben sound much older. I️ also saw MLB as Evan this week and yes he was amazing but I️ think Noah is just as amazing. AmimiRock That's exactly the point he's making. They are both great vocalists. But Evan is not the right character for Noah. Noah and Ben aren't the same. Ben fits the role perfectly, it's his role, but Noah just doesn't. Ethan Slater is a fantastic vocalist, but that in no way means he would be suited for taking on Evan Hansen. It's just not his forté. Also, this whole concept of "They aren't the same, you can't compare the two" is just absolutely dumbfounding In case you missed it They play the same character What more do you possibly need for basis to compare the two?
