You can see this kind of thing in actors who played the same role for a long time. My absolute favorite example is Jeremy Jordan whenever he sings Santa Fe. He immediately slips back into being Jack. It's pretty cool to see.

@chunksthemonkey17 жыл бұрын
I mean probably, he's played the character for such a long time, and that's how he usually does the song :P Although it's not all that, Ben Platt does a lot of physicalization with his singing. When he's doing riffs, trills, or moments where there's a lot of variation in his notes he tends to make motions that 'help' him with it or represent what he's doing. And more than that, high notes upon other things he does the same. He moves his fingers rapidly, lifts his knees, leans back, and what not. A lot of it may also be just naturally him.
@trans20gayteen7 жыл бұрын

LYRICS I've learned to slam on the brake Before I even turn the key Before I make the mistake Before I lead with the worst of me Give them no reason to stare No slipping up if you slip away So I got nothing to share No, I got nothing to say Step out, step out of the sun If you keep getting burned Step out, step out of the sun Because you've learned, because you've learned On the outside, always looking in Will I ever be more than I've always been? 'Cause I'm tap, tap, tapping on the glass I'm waving through a window I try to speak, but nobody can hear So I wait around for an answer to appear While I'm watch, watch, watching people pass I'm waving through a window, oh Can anybody see, is anybody waving back at me? We start with stars in our eyes We start believing that we belong But every sun doesn't rise And no one tells you where you went wrong Step out, step out of the sun If you keep getting burned Step out, step out of the sun Because you've learned, because you've learned On the outside, always looking in Will I ever be more than I've always been? 'Cause I'm tap, tap, tapping on the glass Waving through a window I try to speak, but nobody can hear So I wait around for an answer to appear While I'm watch, watch, watching people pass Waving through a window, oh Can anybody see, is anybody waving? When you're falling in a forest and there's nobody around Do you ever really crash, or even make a sound? When you're falling in a forest and there's nobody around Do you ever really crash, or even make a sound? When you're falling in a forest and there's nobody around Do you ever really crash, or even make a sound? When you're falling in a forest and there's nobody around Do you ever really crash, or even make a sound? Did I even make a sound? Did I even make a sound? It's like I never made a sound Will I ever make a sound? On the outside, always looking in Will I ever be more than I've always been? 'Cause I'm tap, tap, tapping on the glass Waving through a window I try to speak, but nobody can hear So I wait around for an answer to appear While I'm watch, watch, watching people pass Waving through a window, oh Can anybody see, is anybody waving back at me? My wife and I saw Ben Platt in Dear Evan Hansen last Sunday (Oct. 22, 2017). Words fail to describe the immensity of this guy's talent. He has shattered all previous standards of excellence in theater performance for me. His portrayal of the Evan Hansen character was so visceral and palpable, he made the audience laugh and cry throughout the entire show. His interpretation of Pasek and Paul's music was beyond perfection. Where does he get that voice from? He scaled the high notes with controlled intensity and explosiveness that still sounded beautifully melodic. His falsetto is like raspy butter. And his vibrato is divine. Like many theater insiders say, he is a unicorn in the midst of elite talents. I absolutely agree with them. Thank you, Ben Platt, for sharing your talents. Looking forward to your album!

Oh gosh! Ben is an amazing singer. This is also one of my favorite song in the musical. LOVE IT!

Even after more than a year and a half since knowing DEH, i still get goosebumps whenever Ben does the note drop from the high "waving" at the end. that's definitely talent and hardwork working together.

dear,21 people who disliked this are you ok,do you need help Sincerely,me
@kevinpunnackal44466 жыл бұрын
I disliked it based on technique, the feeling is there as well as the emotion, but the technique doesn't back it up.
@dmegli405 жыл бұрын
Kevin Punnackal I absolutely agree. He didn’t used to sing like this either. Used to be much better and not as tight. Now it’s pitchy and kind of bleaty. His older stuff is spectacular, this is not that.
