Josephus writing about some people who reported they had the remains of the Ark is zero evidence that the Ark existed. All it is evidence of is that tourist traps were already a thing 2000 years ago. Also nobody back then cared about accuracy anything like we do today, nobody was going to check up on Josephus to any degree. The idea that many people were capable of travel to places like the supposed Ark location, and that such people had the ability to verify that what they found was indeed a boat that had held all living air-breathing species on Earth is ludicrous. Few people of that time and place traveled more than 10 miles from where they were born, and no one had the knowledge that would have been needed to establish that the boat was capable of housing the amount of animals that it would have needed to. The "whole of mankind" is actually "the whole of an area that a person could walk across in a month or two". The similarities in the Epic of Gilgamesh and Genesis flood stories is not reasonable to view as two separate tellings, Genesis shows no sign of having been part of the Jewish heritage until after the Jewish elite were forced into Babylon. Perhaps the authors of this video are unaware of when some of these stories first were spread around. What history strongly indicates is that the Jews adopted many Babylonian cultural attributes, which was the goal of the Babylonians in forcing the ruling class to leave their peasants behind for a generation or three. Judaism was not even monotheistic until after the return from exile. How does the presence of the debris of tarred wood constitute evidence of a global flood? Why did some cultures continue to exist through the period of time claimed for the flood if it killed all but one family? -- The whole historical approach here is ridiculous given that the boat as described in the story would have stifled its inhabitant within days. It is not large enough to have held the necessary food for the count of species given by creation proponents, which is off by something like a factor of 1000 of the amount actually needed to produce the variety of life now present. Then you are faced with the fact the proportions of the boat are such that it would have capsized, without some mechanism for pointing the bow into waves the boat will be lined up long axis parallel to the waves then it would roll over, if somehow the leaks inherent in such a structure had not already let it sink. The Ark would have needed to be close to a circle to have a chance of surviving the drastic weather that inundating the Arctic and Antarctic ice would have caused. Without mountains the winds across the oceans would be far greater than they are today. Next on the list of impossible things about the story is that whether you make the miraculously added water salt or fresh one group or the other of fish would have died out. Only a handful of fish species can handle the difference in salinity between fresh water and sea water. No land plants would have survived. Most can only live for a few days under shallow water, plants breath oxygen as well as emit it at night. Many of us have killed a house plant by watering it too often, just drowning the roots, not also the stem and leaves.

Yes! I just read Josephus was enslaved for a period of time. 🤔 Wow! Died around age 62 or 63. "Titus Flavius Josephus born Yosef ben Matityahu יוסף בן מתתיהו was a first-century Romano Jewish historian who was born in Jerusalem-then part of Rome. He initially fought against the Romans during the First Jewish-Roman War as head of Jewish forces in Galilee, until surrendering in 67 CE to Roman forces led by Vespasian after the six-week siege of Jotapata. Josephus claimed the Jewish Messianic prophecies that initiated the First Jewish-Roman War made reference to Vespasian becoming Emperor of Rome. In response Vespasian *decided to keep Josephus as a slave* and presumably interpreter. After Vespasian became Emperor in 69 CE, he *granted Josephus his freedom,* at which time Josephus assumed the emperor's family name of Flavius. Flavius Josephus fully defected to the Roman side and was granted Roman citizenship. He became an advisor and friend of Vespasian's son Titus, serving as his translator when Titus led the siege of Jerusalem in 70 CE. Since the siege proved ineffective at stopping the Jewish revolt, the city's pillaging and the looting and destruction of Herod's Temple (Second Temple) soon followed. Josephus recorded Jewish history, with special emphasis on the first century CE and the First Jewish-Roman War (66-70 CE), including the siege of Masada. His most important works were The Jewish War (c. 75) and Antiquities of the Jews (c. 94). The Jewish War recounts the Jewish revolt against Roman occupation. Antiquities of the Jews recounts the history of the world from a Jewish perspective for an ostensibly Greek and Roman audience. These works provide valuable insight into first century Judaism and the background of Early Christianity"--

I believe that the flood could had happened. But with the fact that there are stories older than the Bible that tell the same thing as Noah's, then why would I give the credit to the Bible in the first place? Let alone take it as "divinely inspired." I would give the credit to those first Sumerian stories that other religious leaders later incorporated in the bible. As fas as I'm concerned and the way I see it, the Bible version could probably just be some sort of manipulation to spread the idea of a "Monotheistic God."

There is no way this could have happened. I'm not including every aspect since i'm on mobile right now but here we go: Firstly: There isnt enough water for this to happen. 97% of all water on earth are already bound in the oceans, if we add the remaining 3%, then the oceans would only rise about 250 meters. This is not near enough to flood the entire world. Secondly: the ark is too small. The size of the boat is written down somewhere in the bible, and its not big enough to fit a pair of every species, not to mention the food needed to feed all these animals for 1 year. Finally: for every event and landmark "supporting" the existence of the flood there is a scientifically plausible explaination on how it happened instead. Do some proper research before posting videos on this topic. And no, proper research does NOT include AnswersInGenesis as a scource.

right, it is logical to see it that way. but some believe the earth was covered by a canopy of water that made our atmosphere at that time. and they believe this is why people had the long lifespans due to blocking gamma ray or cosmic rays. their cells were not mutated. and the waters now on the earth, came from the collapsing atmosphere as rain and some stored as ice at both poles. just a theory. but the fact is that scientist in the last 10 years have found large seas under the mantle of the planet, or fountains of the deep..does that sound familiar. so, check up another win for the holy bible and torah.

Yes, it really did happen, so best take heed as Noah did, especially at these end times when the days are LIKE the "Days of Noah": disobedience to almost every Word of God, plus mocking of God's Word of Truth goes along with that. The Creator God is the LIVING God, and will soon intervene so as to force mankind to have WORLD PEACE; now that's no small thing. He will also imprison those that destroy the earth, if they live past Christ's return in Power and Glory. It could be within this decade. Watch.

Actually he doesn't know much at all. He ignores all of the evidence that no such flood could have occurred, that the boat would not have survived the first storm if it could even float in the first place. He ignores all of the genetic evidence which requires hundreds of thousands of years to generate the diversity we see across humanity. He ignores that travelers make up tall tales and that villages make up stuff to attract visitors.

You've not made one point as to what he has ignored except your assumptions about something you didn't see and neither did I. But we have a story and it is a global one retold by many nations all speaking a different language. That's something that for sure happened.
@histreeonics7770 Жыл бұрын
@@derekmcquattie9444 The only thing common in the flood stories is that there was a massive flood. There are still massive floods today, but they are not global. The lack of synchronicity between the flood stories, the disagreements on most details, makes it ridiculous to claim they are all of the same event. What is being ignored is that there is not enough water for such a flood, such a flood would have eliminated all glaciers including melting all the ice on Antarctica. Ice core data on glaciers shows their ages, some are multiple millions of years old. Such a flood would have killed off either the vast majority of marine life or the vast majority of fresh water life, both groups are quite sensitive to salt concentrations. The historians mentioned lacked the knowledge needed to establish that some wooden artifacts were in fact a boat that meets the description of the Ark. The reports of those men add no credibility to the story at all. Does that help you or should I list a dozen more areas of well established science that preclude the occurrence of a global flood anytime after tetrapods colonized dry land?

First off, the Bible says two of every animal, which is wrong because you need at-least 50 of a species to have genetic diversity. Also everything would die, plants would be killed because of the water drowning them, fish would die because in the Bible it says the ark rose above all the mountains in the world which would make the water colder and also combine fresh water and salt water and kill plants in the water like kelp, and also the weather would kill animals because they didn’t have enough fur and also fire would have a tough time lighting because of the lack of oxygen, also the animals that would survive would die from exhaustion when trying to breathe in a climate with 33 percent less oxygen. Also after the flood the animals would kill each-other which would make a whole species go extinct. You may say god did a “miracle: but this doesn’t make sense because he could have used a more reliable way of ending the earth by simply wiping out the oxygen, giving all things a terrible heart attack, or send a mass plague. It makes no sense, you see yehweh often do this, he’s able but not willing.
@johnle2313 жыл бұрын
You said need atleast 50 of a species to have genetic diversity. Says who? Two beings like 2 dogs mating have enough diversity between them to breed out different colors of dogs in just one breeding. And can have many pups in one breeding. Then those pups go on breeding... why would there be a problem?

Karasu Arts your comments seem beyond reason. Why? For starters, not only do nearly all ancient civilizations around the world have an almost identical narrative as the story of Noah and the flood. Second, you seem to be wiser than God. You seem to know more about the flood than those that recorded it. And finally you give the impression as if though you were there during the great flood. Oh and by the way, there are numerous fossils of dead fishes and everything else.

@@karasuarts900 I have a better idea. Instead of me supplying you with proof, why don't you check out the Hawaii flood legend, whose hero is called Nu-u; or the Chinese flood legend whose hero had a wife Fuhi, with three sons and three daughters (8 in all - similar to the biblical account); or the ancient Greek flood legend, whose hero was called Deucalion; or the Aztecs which mentions a legend of a couple saved from a great flood safely floating inside of a hollow log; or the Toltecs which told a similar story as the Aztecs, which mention that after the flood humanity made a very high zacuali (high tower), then their language broke up into many languages, which caused them to disperse over the whole world; or the woman in the Aztec legend called Cihuacohuatl (serpent woman), also known as the mother of the human race, that also had twin sons (Cain and Able); The Mayan legend called the Popol Vuh which mentions that the inhabitants of the world were destroyed by a great flood because they refused to honour the Heart of Heaven; the American Pawnee people says that the giants before the flood offended their creator Tirawa, so he drowned them in a flood; ancient legend of Peru tells of the god Viracocha, who sent a great flood to destroy the unruly giants that he created. Only two giants survived in a boat which landed at Tiahuanaco; the Scandanavia legend says that Odin killed the first frost giant Ymir - his blood caused a great flood which covered the whole earth. A frost giant called Bergelmir and his wife survived the flood in a hollowed out tree; the African Tanzania flood legend says that god told two men to take seeds and animals onto a boat so that they could survive a mountain covering flood. The two men then later sent out a dove and then a hawk to see if the earth was dry; the Akkadian legend says that the gods were angry because of the noisy humans, and decided to flood the earth. But the kindness of the goddess Ea warned Utnapishtim to build a cube-like ark to save the animals and his family from the coming world-wide flood; the Australian Gajara and his family survived a worldwide flood on a raft. He later sent out birds to see if the waters had receded. The god Ngadja was pleased to smell the burning sacrificial offering of kangaroo meat, so he placed a rainbow in the sky to stop the rain clouds. In Hindu mythology, the gods created Manu, the first man, who gave life to all humans. According to legend, he was the earth's first king and the ancestor of all the kings of India. The most famous tale involving Manu tells of a great flood that destroyed everything on earth. One day Manu was washing his hands in a bowl of water when he saw a tiny fish there. The fish pleaded with Manu to be placed in a larger vessel of water to survive. In return the fish promised to save Manu from a great flood that was to come and carry away all living beings. Manu put the fish in a bigger bowl, but the fish grew so rapidly that he had to transfer it to an even larger tank. The fish continued to grow until Manu eventually threw it into the sea. At that point, the fish told him that he should build a great ship to save himself from the coming flood. He also instructed Manu to take into the ship two of each animal on the earth as well as seeds from every kind of plant. When the flood came, Manu used a rope to tie his boat to a large horn growing out of the fish. Pulling the ship through the rough waters, the fish came to the Himalaya mountains. There it told Manu to tie the ship to one of the mountains and wait until the waters receded. After the flood, Manu became lonely because only he and the animals aboard the ship had survived. He offered a sacrifice and was rewarded with a wife, with whom he began to repopulate the earth. In several Hindu texts the fish appears as the god Brahma or Vishnu. The story of Manu and the flood also has parallels with the biblical stories of Noah's Ark and Adam and Eve. As far as you claiming to have superior knowledge of science and mathematics which exceeds those of the Creator of the cosmic universe is somewhat 🤣🤣!!! kzbin.infogaming/emoji/7ff574f2/emoji_u1f923.pngkzbin.infogaming/emoji/7ff574f2/emoji_u1f635.pngkzbin.infogaming/emoji/7ff574f2/emoji_u1f635.png

@@Sitius-bi2df okay but you never gave a time line, so what years did these floods take place? For each culture, if that’s correct and the story of Noah’s ark being the most descriptive and organized writing we have then what’s the time each of these are said to take place, not to mention the people who wrote those ancient tales made stories, not historical accounts. And if their was a world flood everything would die;fish,trees,plants,humans,animals, etc. If a lion were to eat only one herbivore then it would ruin a species after the flood, also as I’ve said you need at least 50 animals to have enough genetic diversity and that doesn’t include hunger because the meat on the ship would spoil, the ship would also sink under all that weight because the keel wasn’t made yet. The Masoretic Text of the Torah places the Great Deluge 1,656 years after Creation, or 1656 AM (Anno Mundi, "Year of the World"). Many attempts have been made to place this time-span at a specific date in history. And the keel which would have been needed for a ship to keep it stable only came out in the 6th century, the arks older then the keel which mean it would have sunk. If you look at it with reason, then Noah’s ark was a horrible story which makes god look like a fool and was one of the arguments that personally made me walk away. But that’s irrelevant because just because societies have flood stories they all are proven wrong because we wouldn’t be here if the world flooded and as described in the Bible the water rose above mountains.
