@@EliGJah Mike isn't exactly _not_ into Will. Mike was very persistent and caring of Will in the first two seasons. Obviously that can be viewed as something that best friends do, but contrasting some things with Mike's relationships with El, and Will, there are things that can hint to him caring about Will slightly more. Also Mike hasn't exactly been *in love* with Eleven. In his argument with El season 4, all he could say was that he cared about her, and that she was a super hero. Not exactly the correct things you would say to someone you *love.* All these things could just be a coincidence, but we won't know till they tell us

Right now the story is calling for Eleven to fight against Vecna. Vecna uses hate and sadness for strength. Eleven can beat him with love and joy. Seeing as Vecna is much stronger, I see Eleven needing an extra push of love to beat him. I think Mike will finally acknowledge that he loves her and it will be enough for her to defeat Vecna, because she has been wanting to hear him declare his love for her for a long time. I don't see anyone else besides Mike and Hopper who can provide her with meaningful love to overcome Vecna. It might even take both of them to inspire her to win. I see Will revealing that the Flayer has been watching them the whole time through his eyes, that it is back, and it has fully crossed into Hawkins, and that He is it's avatar. His painting will also reveal hints on how to save him and defeat the Flayer. S5 is all about Will

Many people are passionately crazy about this romance between Will and Mike. I don't have anything against having a male homosexual+ character in the show but what I don't like is male stereotypes. I really like Will's personality. I am fascinated by his high sensitivity. His eyes transmit warmth that I don't see in any other male character, even though he seems very shy and unsure about life. However, I feel that we fall into the stereotype that dictates that "all men who are sensitive or who care too much about his male friendships must be interested in dating other men". That's not always the case and that's part of life, too. Just like many viewers felt, there are signs (some of them debatable) that Will may want to have a romantic interest in Mike but I really wanted something different for a sensitive male character like Will. Also, why is there so much eagerness in hooking every single main character with a romantic partner at the same time? It could a possibility that Will is not exactly interested in romantic relationships, at least not exactly "now". He really cherishes the friendship he has with the other three boys. In Season 3, many people point out that part where Mike says "not my problem you don't like girls"... A part of me felt that Will's silence was so as to express frustration that Mike was just thinking about romantic relationships and not really thinking about the importance of reinforcing their friendship. And then that scene of Will alone in the woods crying and tearing up the group picture broke my heart... but again, I didn't see anything that makes me think about a romantic frustration about that reaction. In Season 4, there's this scene where Mike and Will were packing, Mike tells him he was thinking about the negligence in their contact the previous year and when Mike says "Like friends... Like best friends", Will's eyes got teary and he smiled... Again, I didn't feel any romantic desire from Will towards Mike, I felt his heart was crying of joy because Mike acknowledged their beautiful friendship and that was what Will wanted to hear. That made me think of Will's heartwarming innocence that would be otherwise twisted if he just wanted Mike to be his boyfriend. I wanted to preserve that innocence. It would be cool to see Will really not wanting to date anyone at all and focusing on nourishing his friendships. Having a romantic relationship shouldn't be an obligation. Some people want to date their same sex; others, the opposite sex, but there are also people who really don't want to date... There are so many different types of people. It's ok if there is more than one homosexual couple in a show but what I don't like the fact that if a guy is sweet and sensitive, they must be homosexual because that's "the rule": I dislike that way of thinking.

I totally agree. It’s unfortunate that Will is falling into the stereotypes that his bullies made fun of him for, and I don’t like reinforcing stereotypes like that. However, speaking from personal experience and also from media, stereotypes do come true many times and a lot of gay guys do tend to be sweeter and more sensitive to others feelings, so I’m not upset that Will is gay. They definitely could’ve fought the stereotype like how Clay was called gay in 13 reasons why but ended up being straight, but I feel like it wouldn’t have been as accurate to Will’s character. In the end, I’m happy they chose this route because it feels natural to me.

All men, regardless of their sexual orientation, have the potential to express feelings of affection towards male friends and that is a beautiful thing (just like female friends doing that to each other). I wanted Will to be like a "neutral" character in this aspect. Why do all people have to enter a sexuality group created by others and fueled by mass media? I consider myself to be a man that doesn't follow any of that. I appreciate inner and outer beauty of both men and women but I don't want to involve myself romantically or sexually with any sex or gender. I do not see myself in a couple relationship. That being said, I love making friends and feel love for my friends and that's the type of social relationship that fills me spiritually. Humans are really complex, that's the real truth. I wanted Will to be similar to me. Again, I dislike the fact that just because Will is sensitive and care about his friends that much, then he MUST be homosexual. I dislike that, really.

Honestly, I'm not looking forward to it either, but I think it's fine as long as Will is happy. He was ignored this whole season and I think even though he and Mike will probably not end up together he'll find his happiness, that's all that I want for him I don't think he and Mike would be a happy couple after watching s4 (just my opinion, i don't mean to offend anyone) and it's the best if they don't end up as one (I ship them very much, but it's just not what's good for Will ig)

Will whole character this season is just him possibly being gay and hate that like he was ignored all of season 3 just for him to have nothing going on in season 4 as well and is whole thing his just being gay and as hard core stand of the byler ship was just expecting more. What going happen is will going show mike the picture come out to him confess his love everyones gonna be shocked el gonna be hearrbroken jonathan will be supportive mike will reject will. and he will get Boyfriend in season 5 and that all will is gonna have going on in season 5. They could honestly kill will off if the want to because hes now a irrelevant character which breaks my heart bc hes one of my favorite characters. my thoughts on byler... i feel like i’ve stopped shopping mileven as much as i used to but that really is probably because mike and eleven are just SO dependent on one another and that is always a little concerning for me. nonetheless, i definitely think they both love each other and mike would still be too smitten with eleven even if they did split up for him to like will, even with their past. as for will, i really think that he needs to be cut a break and find someone that will love and appreciate him in the way he deserves, and i don’t think mike can give him that. trust me, i am all for a good gay ship, but it just feels too one sided at the moment for me to wholeheartedly ship the byler pairing. it also might be that i’m just not feeling it with mike right now, although i wouldn’t say i’m a mike hater or something. idk, will just needs to be happy for once, that’s what i’m concerned about.

@@ellaelliott4415 I think the poster is definitely for Mike. He brought it to the airport but after Mike rebuffed his hug, he chickened out of giving it to him. But after their heart to heart in episode 4, we see him reconsider the painting and then take it along. It wouldn't really make a whole lot of sense for him to have feelings for Lucas or any other guy, as there has been zero foreshadowing, and he has been giving a lot of pining looks to Mike.
