Totally agree on the Triangle of Quality theory. Certainly there are outliers but a great photographer can make an image with any camera. Also I have that same bin o’cables and can never find anything that works in it. What are we supposed to do with that stuff?

I think the triangle idea is quite good. And correct as far as something like that can be. Gear in general can be weird. When people become fans or certain brands or models of gear. I have felt for a while now, that as long as gear helps you "get out there" and be creative and get your art made, gear is important. when it gets to the point that you get in arguments with people because they do not like your gear, we might have a problem. 🤣 and the Kyocera somehow just reminded me of the Nikon split body flippy cameras... not sure which came first. Those were wonderfully weird and cool though. And that just reminded I always wanted to check out the Yashica Samurai... hm. Anyone have opinions here on half frame 35mm cameras? 😄

@@NoahKalina Isn't the real question whether or not you CARE about having a PhaseOne? "It's just the right tool for the job" Care score = maybe a 9? Photo quality could be a 16. Who knows.

If you were interested, I'd tell you to be cautious about plugging any old power adapter into that camera, that you should first check that the polarity and voltage of the adapter is compatible with the camera (almost always they're DC rather than AC). And I'd tell you about getting a multi-power adapter that allowed you to select all of the above, and also to switch between innumerable sized connectors to suit the particular camera. But I know that you're not bothered. And I know that this is for the best. As per the triangle of truth.

Interesting...I wonder if your theory also holds true for guitarists, writers and painters. If they care too much about their guitars, pens/typewriters and brushes, does that prevent them from becoming the best that they can be? Or maybe, because of the full court hype that accompanies cameras, photography is unique in that regard.
