great video; to answer your partners' question, at 12:01; the reason the R7 is less expensive than the R5 is that the camera naming culture of manufacturers, they call the KING or top of the line a 1D/R or D1 by convention, the 7{or 700}/8{800} is Pro level, but more sports (resolution compromised for speed, AF performance)\8 is higher res, lack of speed; 5 is Light Pro/Enthusiast level, 300/400 is amateur or beginner level is any 10's aka digits in the 10s not hundreds; also the 1/10/100 placing of the digits indicates crop or full frame type; the full frame obviously more $$ than crop body. there is also a feature set progression in the line-ups, beginners are more auto, the pros have no auto, or minimal, the pro models have dials for iso, shutter, aperture instead of menu or button push and turn for the cheaper cameras, just to name a few differences.

I started shooting in high-school using an old nikon d5100 i found in our house and never really bothered to look at lenses or accessories, so i had no idea how expensive this hobby was going to be until just last year when i bought my own camera for the fist time. One year into taking photography a little bit more enthusiastically, ive spent around 3k + usd already like damn im not even a professional photographer lmao

Having just moved from APS-C to full-frame, and thus needing to replace my whole system, it's a bit of a relief to realize that, however much I may have spent on it, it’s still far less than the prices you've given for the equivalent pieces.
