Sitting on a scenic road sits this incredible, untouched time capsule home. The German man who once lived here moved to Ontario with his wife to start their life together. The man was a high school teacher at the local school teaching grades 11-12. He had a range of hobbies, from building a custom train set in the basement to building a custom self-sufficient home next door. Unfortunately, one day while working on the house, the man suffered a heart attack, he passed shortly after.
After his passing, his wife packed up her things and moved back to Germany. The wife left all of her husband's personal belongings, projects, and memories abandoned in the home to rot away. To this day, the man's train set still sits set up buried under the falling ceiling along with wedding photos, documents, clothing, and so much more!

I agree. I don't know if it's just my age (40s), but homes in past decades just seemed more 'homey' & comfortable looking, if that makes sense. The modern interior trends are beautiful & I see many lovely homes, but something about them seems less personal, & less comfortable to just hang out in

You mentioned he passed in 83’ but then said his teaching id was 96’-97’. Bit confused. Decor certainly looked 83’. Enjoyed the details and pics. Thanks for sharing.

I’m happy to see you actually show the pictures of the people. A lot of explorers get so weird about showing people’s pictures, but the way I look at it, those people left all that behind, their families didn’t care about it, and what does it matter, if we see what they look like.? I just subscribed to your channel by the way, good job!

In the "olden days" people used to have slide projectors & slides their photos were on at home. That's more likely what you were looking at rather than school slides. I loved that kitchen too. Also, having island 🏝 or exotic themed basements were popular in those days as well. You're in a 60s to 70s style home that changed with the decades, but not that much. Of course train sets goes back to decades before then as well. It's such a shame to see such wonderful vintage things rotting away. In seeing how dedicated the man was to his hobbies even to the extent of it encompassing a house next door, I can see why the wife would walk away knowing she couldn't keep it all intact anyway. She may have had health problems too & just was done & wanted to go back to her home in Germany. I wonder how she felt having to have tenants sharing her home to afford his expensive hobbies. The woven pieces were popular in the 70s, called macrame.

Wow, that "Fall TV preview...Fonzie, Laverne & Shirley, Suzanne Sommers (probably Three's Company), Alan Alda, Archie Bunker....that magazine is from the late 1970's. In fact, that's the National Enquirer, so old they were actually doing entertainment news instead of Bigfoot sightings.

It's cool how the photos show that the house is pretty much frozen in time. That stove is Mid Century and there are people who pay a lot to have them restored. The train room was really cool, that VW gas/cafe model was part of the scale-train setup. Very cool explore. Keep Orange Crushing It!

I’d say she probably left to be with family and perhaps even though she would come back and time just passed on by. Maybe it got harder to face even? I know when my dad passed my mom stayed but she hated it. I told her just move. Well she stated and 158 days later she passed in her sleep. She just lost her desire to live without him.

Very common. My aunt, who absolutely adored her Dad, left his house the second he passed and sold it as is, with everything still inside and out... Very sad to see that nobody has lived there since the change of ownership, all his belongings still visible through the windows. Very sad...

So sad it isn’t being adopted and rehabbed the waterfall is amazing, they must have tried using water growing plants. It would be quite unusual in that. Time. I wonder if. Anyone owns it now or because of abandonment for so long if the city does. Amazing and sad, be safe and thanks for showing it again!

Loved this video. I really appreciate how interested you are in the lives of the people who made a home in this house. I am the same way. I can look at the photo albums of strangers for hours trying to guess from the photos what their lives were like, what their interests and hobbies were. Its like reading a good biography with only photos. I am so old I can remember when it was trendy to put wall to wall carpet up on some of your walls. Like an accent wall. Its popularity was short lived but it was a thing

Great exploration. The idea of returning to previously visited abandoned places is really cool. I like the house. First of all, it has its own character. I think every house should have it - it should have its own character and not be an accurate reflection of the contents of interior magazines showing current trends. I wouldn't mind living in this house today with the way it looked in its heyday. By the way, I felt irritated at the sight of these graffiti. I was sure that there would not be any in this house, that the house was spared devastation.

Another great video! I like when you show the personal side of the owner, it adds a lot to it. As somebody from the desert, I don’t understand why some homes you show are molded beyond belief after just a few years, and yet this one after 40 years shows very little? I wonder why that is ? Thanks again! Steve.

This property hasn't been abandoned long. A house left in 1983 where there are 4 seasons would be rubble. I'm not sure why he said 1983. There was also a paper under things with an ad for a used 2015 Honda. The basement was also super moldy with tons of decay. I'm thinking it's different in a dry climate but basements are always damp unless you have a dehumidifier running 24/7. And if a pipe bursts because it freezes and thaws, then you have a flooded basement which will grow mold in no time.

"Dirty books?" Holy crap did I snort with laughter at that. Those boxes are full of Harlequin Romances and they sold for a few dollars (if that) in the 70s and 80s. You could buy a subscription and I think you got a new book every month. My grandmother got them and I read a few. Definitely not what I'd call dirty, just your typical testosterone filled man's man rescuing trembling helpless woman stories. Kind of cute in a retro way, actually.

House is amazing but some stuff from the story dont quite add up. If he died in a 80s how did he teach in the 96?,other thing that is weird is a fact that house is abandoned in 83 (according to your words),that's 40 years of snow, rain and sun and house is super clean. There is no mold, almost no decaying, everything looks like they left 6 months ago. Other then that everything is impressive,a true time capsule from the 70s and very sad story thar come with the house.
