Wow that's cool. I'm assuming you also mean you never played warcraft 3? Wouldn't it be cool if they made a Netflix series showing the lore? They did it for DotA and it was received well enough. WoW's story is way safer than what they did coming up with new stuff for DotA as well. All of the classic WoW/warcraft lore would be a great way to prime people to play the game. Doesn't have to be cgi animation either. It could be just traditional animation.

Thing is sending an Old Gods was something of one time arrangement that required a lot of power from Void Lords - they can't just throwing a new one all the time. So as it stands for now - Azeroth is relatively safe from that kind of corruption.

I got out of touch with the warcraft Fandom for long time, more than a decade. I remember being active wow player when they revealed Illidan as a raid boss and everyone was losing it how cool he was, then I played Warcraft 3 few years later and fell in love with Illidan. Seeing where they evolved his story was beautiful. It's such a shame I can't afford being an active player anymore. I know myself, I'll quickly lose my job and play all day, but this time I'm adults no parents to take my PC away to study lmao

If I had to come up with a reason of why Sargaras didn't use the key to jump to Azeroth it would be that perhaps the key opens a portal to any world that has a Legion gateway connected to the key. So until a portal is opened on Azeroth creating a connection to the key it couldn't be used to get to Azeroth. So it had to be used from Azeroth first. Just my thought though.

If memory serves, Illidan managed to travel to Argus using an astral form. That may explain why Illidan can use the Sargerite Keystone to open a portal from Azeroth to Argus. On the other hand, Sargeras may have been unable to get Azeroth's exact location because his avatar and minions were only able to get to Azeroth through portals. Just a guess.

The keystone is a registry and a conduit, most of the worlds coordinates saved on it have been conquered by the Legion, Azeroth was added by the Illidari when they escaped Mardum aboard The Fel Hammer.

I was there alongside Nobbel as we opened the gates of Ahn Qiraj. I was there alongside Nobbel as we stormed the portal to Outland. I was there beside Nobbel as we ran toward battle against the Lich King. I remember everything. His Paladin was hilarious 😂 sometimes he’d be healing the wrong person and you can just see him beginning a heal and then stop randomly like “oops”.

The legion was never able to locate Azeroth in the Nether, that's why they never used any of their spaceships to lock on that location. Beside, the warp engine on these things are ravenous in Souls and Fel energy. To invade by portals and summons is the more efficient way for them but we stopped any tentative that used these tactics. So by the time they found Azeroth with the last connection made in the Tomb by Gul'dan, they no longer had the keystone for almost a decade but it was easy for their spaceships to jump to Azeroth even without it.

I think the reason why Sargeras never used the keystone himself is because it could only open gateways to Legion worlds. Azeroth is not under their dominion even with the corruption brought on by the portal at the Tomb of Sargeras, as seen when we kill Dread commander Arganoth the first time, he comes back later during our retribution; If it was under their domain, he would've died for good. plus he didn't know Azaroths exact location so he couldn't just transport himself to the nearest Legion world. Plus, he already had planed to infiltrate and attack Azeroth directly through Illidans body, so a giant portal wouldn't be necessary.

Hey Nobbel, I asked this in stream yesterday, but my words were poorly constructed. So, Sargeras wants to destroy all worlds because no one knows what hides a world-soul and he doesnt want old gods corrupting one, he destroyed Telogrus, talked to the titans, they were like nope, then he began his crusade, but basically he found Argus, as titan without corruption and used him to speed the rebirth process of demons Meanwhile, he learned that Azeroth is another world-soul, and if she awakens she could fuck up the void lords, problem is:old gods ofc he wanteed to destroy the planet, but when he reached it, in the end of legion, all old gods were chained, why didnt he just kept the legion there to ensure that the old gods remain in prison? Sargeras became more powerful when he became imbued with fel, why not imbue Azeroth with it, then, and you will have a void lord ++++++ titan in your dark pantheon?

Because at the start of the story - he learned that azeroth is another world soul - his fellow pantheon peops already informed him on the work they'd done on azeroth. Sarg didn't care, it was going to have to be destroyed so even if he had the option to contain/infuse/keep those old gods imprisoned...he wouldn't have.

It's possible someone already made this speculation, but has anyone considered the possibility that Sargeras is actually a first one? Think about it. The rest of the pantheons are obviously much weaker than the titan one at its prime... but we only ever see a (relatively) weak Titan pantheon. What if the original explanation (that they are weak due to death at sargeras' hands) was yet another of their lies? Perhaps this is more or less their full power. Sargeras killed their bodies and tried to subvert their minds (since their souls survived) because he was rebelling against the First ones, of whom he was a member, and not against the Titans. Their death being more collateral damage. Consider also that Argus is not planet sized either(the Titan) even if he/they are born inside planets(or grow in them) We were told (lie?) that this is because he was being drained but.....

But why would he attempt that if he doesn't have too? The Void is the first thing that scared him and all he saw were mere fractions from the void lords causing corruption. There is no way for him to ensure that he would win against a void lord if he invades and even worse, If he indeed is not able to win then he can no longer back out because his invasion attempt did half of the job for the void lords to corrupt the universe as he now has opened up a passage for them.

I like to relate Sargeras to the 40k lore of the warp. He was corrupted by fel and was not able to pass into the mortal realm easy like daemons in 40k do. While they can physically manifest in the mortal plane it takes a large amount of energy/magic to summon them in. Having been corrupted by fel he became linked to the twisting nether like daemons in 40k are linked to the warp. He could open a bridge with keystone like in @21:20 but could not break the veil that was in place. Similar how the eye of terror can spew forth chaos mortals from the warp but daemons still have an issue getting out (well previous to the cicatrix being made).

Sargeras does a lot, and Sargeras clearly does care about the Naaru and the Light. Hell, he literally sends Aggramar to deal with the Light as soon as he’s told of their invasion on Argus. He also believes to have won against the Light on some accounts. Regarding what else he does, he’s out destroying shit in reality throughout infinite timelines and universes. So…
