Why make the collar and the implant in separate parts? Why not make an implant where the collar is a continuous part of the subosseous implant and polished part can be at mucosal level? That way the microgap is eliminated and potential risk of loosening of the «on1» gingival part. I am missing something? Thanks

I would say if you have recession exposing the collar you can still salvage the case by taking a fixture level impression and convert the tissue level implant back to bone level implant.
