Sisters Victoria (she/her) and Lynn (she/her) visited {THE AND} space while we were on St. Helena Island. The two sisters, were raised on St. Helena...with Lynn also spending a lot of time helping to raise Victoria and their other siblings. The two discuss the strange looks they would get walking around together, Victoria opening up to Lynn about her first pregnancy before anyone else, and Lynn speaks on behalf of their Mama, in a tearful moment about how proud her little sister makes their family.

Colorist bias against dark skinned Black people definitely exists both interacially and intraracially worldwide. However, many of our biracial and/or racially ambiguous family members are also subjected to rejection of and projection by said skin and kinfolk. Congrats to the one sister on her accomplishments in cultural work🙌🏿❤. On a more superficial level, I love the older sister's gap between her teeth👌🏿😊.

Oh good ness thank you sometimes I find it incredibly boring to be amongst my own race of Caucasian people, I do my best not to hate my own race, even when they make themselves an example of what not to do, but sometimes to fit in with others I might shame caucasians, about their minced words, lack of empathy, lack of self reflective capacity. I try to take responsibility for greed.....I don't think in my lifetime I will see the greed turn into humility, empathy, and responsibility.
