We gotta stop treating Meeks’s peer group outside of the “big three” like they’re all wack and nobody likes em anymore. Meek, Wale, Big Sean and ASAP Rocky all are way more talented than any of these Gen z tiktok lames and they still make fire music with good production.
@saintkevinofficial
@saintkevinofficial 9 ай бұрын
No doubt! But the problem is they're not relevant to the TikTok era. Their songs don't go viral. The younger generation care more about Carti, Yeat, Yatchy and Carson. In this era, Meek Mill, Wale and Ross stick out like a sore thumb

Man i use to bump DreamChasers and MMG mixtapes back in the day all the time going to my sports games, such a crucial part of my musical upbringing. I’m 22 so some ppl in my age group may not care about Ross as much as older ppl(NO SIR, NOT ME!)but meek was just an undeniable essential rap figure for my age group in the 2010s especially championships ppl fucked with tht heavily in high school. I honestly can’t really put my finger(pause)on y meek doesn’t have the pull he use to, his last album wasn’t anything great but i don’t think it warrants the place his career is in rn. Rough to see for sure I’m hoping this album has a smash hit Meek needs one more than Ross.

I was in highschool from 2013-2017 but before late 2014 I liked rap but I always been more rock n roll and metal etc. So I wasnt huge on it. I deffinatly knew of Meek & Ross. Anyway I grew up in the middle off two eras, but I assosiate more with the 2014 underground and 2016 new wave and on beause its actually what cought my attention into rap. Ethel Wulf/Xavier Wulf & all of Shesh, all of RVIDXR KLVN right Denzel, Nell, Young Simmie etc., $uicideboy$ GOTHMONEY, and eventually Members Only and other artists and collectives. All the 2014/15 Underground was my shit so when it started to blow in 2015/16 I was in it heavy plus I was young and dumb so the new wave care free ignorant hype beast movement was attractive to me. X still my favorite RIP LLJ.

Shouldn’t be a surprise Hell you said it too, meek been signed to Ross while making no money (according to him). Riding bikes in the vid around Ross’ cars and plane lol. Lyrical eazy was too fire I liked it a lot more than first person shooter. I think people are in love with the idea of first person shooter and getting to hear cole go bar for bar with drizzy again more than the track itself. It’s not a banger like “rich flex” or “a lot” they both had good verses but the song itself for me at least isn’t that great, it’s good but not great. People definitely care about Ross and meek, NOBODY can be the hottest forever. Unless you’re drake.. There’s a difference between being bigger and being hotter. Ross and meek are still both respectively some of the biggest artists in the game. I’d rather be bigger than be hotter. Hot just means right now. Bigger means longevity. Right now people are listening to yeat, sexy redd, etc. let’s see if they’re still here in a decade plus like Ross and meek have been. I’m definitely checking for them cus they still put out good music
