Lemme tell you something - as a novelist, I have edited my first 3 chapters 240 times as that's all I get to submit for competitions. Now, I have also edited the rest of my book, but not as much. Last week, i was reading my work, and I found an egregious mistake in the 15th chapter (essentially I had changed a particular scene earlier, but this chapter's dialogues all referred to the deleted scene). What I'm saying is, the first 20 - 30 minutes of the movie is actually quite epic because they wanted us to start with a bang and have good expectations. Beyond that, it became mediocre because they didn't put the same effort

I guess you need to go back to your novel back again. Because if you consider the 1st 20-30minutes of what is at best mediocre and cringe if you are really in a mood to nitpick. Starting with a bang does not mean rushing through the core lore of your fantasy like a mandatory chore & then wasting time on pathetic songs which add 0 value to the story. The dialogues and editing of this movie makes no sense if you you really sit down to analyze this cringefest. I would really suggest reading more great books by great authors and watching some actually good films if you want to get your novel right.

Yes!!! Finally the video. Glad it got unblocked. I too thought the editing was choppy at times but didn't know the extended. It was evident especially during the 5 Pandav or Bramhash fighting scene. Like, when they saved Isha from falling down it was never shown and now everyone thinks she has some astra. Same issue at climax. Things just abruptly halts but next scene everything is fine and you r left scratching your head. It's disappointing that they already got negligible screentime but the poor editing just ruined it further. Were they cutting the cost of vfx bcs it doesn't make sense why at critical moment they will cut them out? But imagine the impact if Bramhashs were not edited out. 16:00 I think it also bcs they were on beat with the music and overall were conveying one story & had a structure 🤔 Start > revelation > reaction > conclusion. When the diya lights up red it hints Shiva awaking his true power. The whole sequence is to establish Shiva is indeed Agniastra, a special being. Raftar attacks - start Diya lights up - reveal Guru's eyes - reaction Shiva unleashing his true power - conclusion Same with Dev & Amrita scene (by the way loved that scene it was magical). Shiva ask - start Guru reveals , synced with Dev extending his hand Shiva's reaction Amrita accepts - conclusion Wow, you made me realise the importance of editing in proper sequence so that it looks like a story. Also not to make unnecessary cuts. By the way at the end you got too nitpicky at vfx. Please don't get carried away while looking for flaws and start seeing everything in one light. Waiting for part 3. 😊

I found Brahmastra idea and special effects very good but overall as a movie it was just a collection of scenes with no audience connect or feelings. You have rightly summed up my feelings in the video. Also, comic visuals in between are really funny.

i felt the pacing issue in the beginning. and also I felt odd editing choice, when Shiva clearly has a vision of SRK fighting and dying. It was such an emotionally impactful scene and Shiva just brushes it off and goes out the temple and starts singing a cheerful song. I was like, "What?? Seriously?". I mean the guy just now saw someone dying and thought let's jam.

But I think ye isiliye kiya tha taaki pacing fast ho aur maine ye notice Kiya tha Ab ye kaafi bold statement hai but Christopher Nolan ki most films bhi similar editing pattern ko follow karti hai Ek moment se dusre moment pr cheeze kaafi sharply change ho jaati hai aur sync in bhi audience ko just within a few frames karna padta hai, and it's not to say ki ye ek buri cheez hai but it's a technique ha Nolan ki movies 10 times better hoti hai isiliye ye ek issue jaisa feel nhi hota

No, u r not alone. I also noticed the problem in editing, especially from srk's fight scene. I thought that this was probably bcz of production issues. As for dialogues, it seemed obvious that they were written in english and then translated. Particularly like kid's novels.

He had no visible power, no presence in the battle except for helping Amitji, and had 1 line about the Maya-astra, which could easily have been delivered by another one of the kids. He's only there because 5 pandav bolne ke liya 5 log chahiye. and the real 3 AM thought is: "agar inko pata tha ki junoon apne army lekar ayegi, toh yeh log apne weapons ko car mein kyun daal rahe then? they should have kept their astras with themselves at all times (matlab koii bulldozer thodi tha? ek shield aur dhanush kaunsa haathi jaisa vaari hai jo car mein dalna para?"
