The last two years have been a turbulent one for Carolina Panthers running back Christian McCaffrey in the wake of his never-ending battles with injuries. Since signing a four-year, $64 million extension that made him the highest-paid running back in NFL history. The Panthers weren't throwing some $64 million at an elite starting running back, they were also paying for an elite receiver. And in all honesty, if McCaffrey would have stayed healthy, the deal could be considered a bargain in the sense that you're paying an elite running back and an elite receiver for just $64 million over four years, but considering that McCaffrey has played in only 10 of an expected 33 games, with 7 of them coming in the just concluded 2022 season, it has made the deal far from bargain and every optimism on the deal would have vanished undoubtedly.

Carolina went out and got a powerback in Donte Forman in the off season. Christian will have a reduced roll in 2022 as a outside RB and slot receiver. They won't be running him between the Tackles 30 times a game like they did in the past.

Yeah the problem is you are paying him as an elite receiver and running back and then went back to just making him run up the gut. Guys get injured when they have to play 70 plus percent of snaps of ground and pound. Panthers really need to look at how the Saints use Alvin Kamara. Yes he pounds the rocks sometimes but usually 50/50 with the power back And then is the receiving back 70-90% of the time

And what does that tell you uh?! If you build your offense around a player like macraffy he's gonna get broke up and your record will be pathetic. If macraffy is your star your gonna be pathetic. That's just a fact. His stats are manufactured because they design play after play to get him into wide open space yet the result is his stats are good but the teams record sucks. No one man is gonna beat a team . They just let him.go and laugh because they know it's a business. As soon as he gets his stats the other team then knows it's time to beat the crap outta the panthers and the do just that. If people understood football they would see that he is a receiver he's not John riggens ok. Steroids can only do so much for you if your not physically built fir the position. When you have obvious designed plays to make up for you inability to pound and grind then when you do get hit it results in frequent injuries. Why not play him at receiver he'd be very good at it. Some things just are common sense.

We should definitely keep him. He would probably accept a restructured deal. Secondly I know it sounds like a oxymoron but him being injured has helped him stay healthy. While he’s had the injuries and been sidelined he also hasn’t been taking jarring blows from defenses. So I say keep him. If anything concert him to WR. He’s more of a WR than a Running back.

He Is washed up over paid and will be broken up injured again. He is not I repeat not a running back but a receiver. Just like his dad was. His body is not built for the postions required durability and pounding in the NFL. He isn't a true running back at all. He is a bust at the position and will never get that mutch money or be paid that much or pay his price nor give up draft picks fir him. He's done career over at the running back position so at best he could be a very productive wide out.
