I also have a 1999 996 but , with manual transmission . I however won’t consider selling it until I do the usuals suspects IMS, RMS and new clutch and flywheel. Even then I might just not sell it at all, since is a hell of a car. Enjoy all your videos. Ty

I really like the Fister exhaust. I’m planning on making some additional slight modifications, but they should all be able to turn back to stock if I want. I want to put on a ducktail spoiler and 996.1 GT3 front bumper (essentially it is just a front lip). Inside I’ve updated the stereo and am planning to add paddle shifters since it is a Tiptronic car. Then some suspension updates and general service items as they come up. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment.

This is exactly what has happened to me.. time wasters, low ballers, scammers, plain rude “buyers”, 3 people got the “check” on hand, then never showed up to the bank to do the transaction.. plainly put.. amazingly frustrating time wasters… I’ll check out your site…

Here's a tip, it's a TIP... Come up with a price you think someone would pay to purchase an original 996 base... then deduct half and you'll probably sell.

it is just bad timing. I reached out to you earlier on about the "hunt for a 996". At that time, you were not ready to sell. So I bought the gold one I have (which was a great deal). As someone who visits C&B and BaT daily (and bids regularly), I'm always skeptical about no reserve auctions. The seller will really take any price? Why do they want to get out of the car that badly? Of course, the cynic in me assume NR sellers always have a friend bidding to make sure the car either: (i) gets to the desired price or (ii) if it doesn't get to the desired price, the friend will not actually require the seller to sell the car. It would be an awesome research project to buy the unlimited CarFax subscription and see how many of these NR auctions actually result in the cars changing owners.

As a rule, no reserve auctions fetch more for the seller than reserve auctions do. Not always, but mostly for sure. I myself would be leery of the person selling at a reserve price. So leery in fact that I have never bid on a car with a reserve price in an auction...

@@1855Media, I would argue just the opposite. To me, a no reserve auction shows a sellers confidence in their car. A reserve auction is proven over and over and over to not get as much as a no reserve auction overall.

Happy you're not selling it, I guess the only reason you might want to is if you want a newer model car and/or manual gear box - I have a tiptronic 330D E92 - they are different cars and I prefer manual, but often times I find myself driving an auto more than my 911 - I wonder if I had an auto 911, would it get driven more? lol. Look forward to seeing other subtle mods you do on your car! If I was in the USA and needed one, I'd have bought it as I feel buyer from a youtuber, everything is documented on the channel and I can always leave bad review if it was (joking!)

There certainly is less reason not to drive it if you know you’ll be in traffic. I do find that I drive it in automatic mode most of the time, but one mod I’m planning on making is adding paddle shifters and then I think I may use manual mode more of the time. Fair point if I kept dropping the price further I’m sure it would have sold. I started at $19,995 which was still on the low end and had $16,500 as the lowest I would take or I would keep it and start making upgrades.
