@@OurRideLife i think the biggest problem is... why get a new one if it's no different to the last. Why get the GT3 when there's plenty of GT4rs's at a fraction the price.

Do you know what inflation is? All new car prices are rising.
@OurRideLife
@OurRideLife 5 күн бұрын
Oh is that the thing that is making everything cost more? The current inflation rate in the US is 2.6% annually as of October, 2024. Based on the previous MSRP of $185,550 at that inflation rate the bew GT3 should go up about $4,825. It isn’t so much that it went up, it’s that it went up so much with only minimal value in mainly new gear ratios and a facelift. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment.

@OurRideLife 6 күн бұрын
@@cookieman2684 Yes, the issue is that if you are going to charge $40K more, there should be something of substance instead of a facelift, slightly different gear ratios and the option to add a back seat in the touring package. It just isn’t good value compared to the outgoing version. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment.

@OurRideLife
@OurRideLife 7 күн бұрын
@@meepcheep314 fair enough. The main difference is gear ratios and updated styling for the GT3. The gear ratios should help on the track, but most buyers won’t track them and it isn’t worth it on the road. With the touring package you can now option back rear seats. There are also carbon fiber seats with folding functions. There are also things like exclusive colors, but at a high level those are the big items. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment.

@OurRideLife

The digital dashboard I didn’t include as that is more of a 992.2 thing, so goes with the restyle. The magnesium wheels are available, but they are an additional cost option, so not in the base MSRP.

Not the 992.2, yet. I’m not high enough in the journalism hierarchy to get it this early on. Based on the press releases the big change is mainly gear ratios (outside of styling), but on the road, for most people they won’t notice the difference and it certainly isn’t worth an extra $40,000. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment.

ohhhh...the headlight explanation is not factual. Even though it is repeated constantly, it is just the opposite of what is believed. The GT1 race car got the headlight design from the 986 / 996, not the other way around. Look at the original GT1 in 1996, it had the 993 headlights and tail lights. Then the 1997 GT1 got the 996 / 986 headlights. Its a case of "tell the story enough, it becomes accepted."
@OurRideLife
@OurRideLife 11 күн бұрын
Fair point and I do believe that the road legal GT1’s with the 993 headlights do fetch a bit more cash. The headlights on the GT1 were largely for marketinf, but having said that most people don’t talk about the headlights being ugly on the GT1 the way that some do with the 996. This does depend on the person. But for me it was a con and I bought a 911 over a Cayman S partly because of the back seats. I use them a lot to carry my kids in the car, so was a con for me. Work on your yoga skills for the backup camera. I put one on and its a bit tricky and cramped. I tapped into the break light for power and ran it through a gromet that is behind the break light. Then its just a matter of climbing into the back and just feeling around until you grab the wire. I ran it along the trim pieces and the headliner. Let me know if you want any pics of how I routed it.

I made the mistake of placing a "nonrefundable" deposit back in 2015 when it looked like they were really going to build cars. I have inquired numerous times since then about getting my money back, only to be told my reservation is in place! I believe Paul Elio was sincere when he first started out, but now the company needs to stop stringing us along. What a waste, since this was a great concept and could have been a game-changer if they actually built the cars. Paul, if you are reading this, please send me my money back!!!

I know people keep complaining by saying it looks like unrelated cars, but when you look at it, the overall silhouette actually looks like a Gallardo, the predecessor to the huracan. The way I see it, Lamborghini took design elements from three things. 1. The huracan 2. The gallardo 3. The new Hexagonal design style they’ve adapted My take on this is that it’s a mix of those three elements, and they think it looks strange because they’re only comparing it to the huracan. Or they just don’t like the design without comparison and that’s fine.
