You know I knew there was something about you that I liked, we grew up the same way with the alcoholic father that used to beat my mother and he died of colon cancer, he was molesting my middle brother, my mom never said anything because he would knock her teeth out, our entire family fell apart, I started turning into an alcoholic and after years of doing that I realized what the hell am I doing and I quit drinking and I quit smoking. There is a lot more to the story but basically right now I'm the only one left besides my wife I talked to and then I found Jesus

Oh, Erik! You've got me crying over here. I can relate to so much of what you're saying. I lived with an mean alcoholic for 36 years until his death from lung cancer. My children suffered as a result. My sons battled alcoholism also and my biological son died at age 38 from cirrhosis of the liver. I, too, suffer anxiety. I cannot tolerate gunshots or loud noises, nor do I enjoy being in the company of those consuming alcohol. My mama also died at age 38, my dad was never around and we winded up in a home for children. I was 11, my brothers were 9 and 6. I went on to serve people as a nurse for 33 years. I so appreciate what you and your family do for others. You really can't understand the impact. Thank you!🩷🩷🩷🩷

I understand your feelings, I also had alcohol addiction around me, the next day everything appears different to them, they rarely remember the pain they inflicted on others. My father was a drinker, but we only saw him on weekends, my husband, was a week-end drinker, two of my children were drinkers. It gets passed on. I lived with that for 29 years, and his girlfriend did me a favor.

@MarilynShealy child, mine was mean. I still have bullet holes in my walls where he unloaded a 15 round Glock and then replaced with an additional clip of 15 and my .38. Many days I wandered if I would make it out alive, but scared to leave. You can't love them enough to save them.
