I have always loved Rodman's defense. He's not the biggest or tallest guy on the court but his determination and strength make up for it. He gives 100% every defensive play and knows when to foul smartly. Guy never even needed to score and still helped his team win.

Doug in San Diego Actually Carmelo is low post player half the time. Lebron is a over rated defender. There is to many defenders in history better than him and right now in this league. Lebron's defense has been lazy and never lived up to ESPN's hype

Rodman shut down Malone, Shaq, Magic Johnson and gave Jordan and Bird massive problems. Guarding 1-5 is shutting down all positions. Lebron just shuts down smaller point guards even though not the top ones

And no, playing two quarters of defense on Derrick Rose in two entire playoffs consisting of 10 total games is not guarding 1-5. It's impressive, but it doesn't make him Scottie Pippen (1-4), Anthony Mason (2-5), Caldwell Jones (1-5), or Dennis Rodman (1-5).

Karl probably could've played better in both finals, but Rodman is such a weapon for the Bulls, damn. He Will defend Karl as good as anyone, throw cheap shots, play mind games, provoke Karl constantly. Be a pest. When Karl's shot is not falling, consider Utah's main scoring option contained.... And whenever that happened, the game was over. Other than this matchup, the Bulls had a similar Harper/Kerr-Stockton effect where both Bulls point guards merely had to contain, fight, slow down the Jazz little man... While both those matchups were sapping massive Energy, the Bulls had Mike who is, oh, only the fuckin GOAT, and Scottie, roamibg free, with Hornacek and Russell opposed to them, obviously completely overwhelmed. Plus the Bulls had the best role player in these series, Toni Kukoć, who could turn the game around with his herky jerky moves and a rain of 3s. Terrible matchup for the Jazz. Indiana Pacers were much better equipped to take out the Bulls, because they sent Dennis off the floor due to matchups. When you can take out an opposing star like that, you re doing a good job. BIRD coached a masterful series and they lost in 7..should've won that game 7.

I would swear none of the Bulls players looked into the game. Rodman just standing there nonchalantly. Jordan didn't appear to be into the game at all. I guess if I saw the whole game, I might have a different opinion, but that's just how it looked to me in this clip

He didnt shoot Malone when he went 40 points in Chicago on game 5. He didnt shoot Malon when he went 31-11-7 on game 6. That job was done by Dick Bavetta and Michael Jordan. lol

the bulls had to use all their big men vs malone, rodman was good but he wasn't big enough to contain malone 3:04 , if rodman had been so effective phil jackson would had used him vs malone more during the game or thaseries for that matter, jackson actually used kukoc more in the series, most of his career malone owned rodman, there were actual games where rodman went scoreless against malone and the jazz, specially when rodman was with the spurs, rodman and the spurs not only would they were swept of the season series but lost against the jazz in the playoffs, this sereis vs the bulls, it was a total team effort to contain malone, rodman by himself couldn't do it, who can forget when malone went 22 for 25 vs rodman when rodman became a laker, to be fair, the bulls (and refs) might had contained malone, not the worm.
