Back in the days, good ol'dayz, I used to consider ECF's superior to the NBA Finals. Those were real epic physical and tactical battles.

Grant's absence actually did make a difference, sure he wasn't much of a factor in G1 but he didn't have those kind've games often throughout his career his interior presence possibly could've won the Magic a few games this series. What gets overlooked was for most of the 2nd half this game the Magic were going small with Dennis Scott at PF who couldn't really play that position. Then in G3 both Grant and Shaw who was the top reserve on the Magic were out the series was practically over by that point.

I think people need to understand that the Bulls were so good in the late 90's with Rodman that Jordan could've stayed in baseball and the Bulls would've still contended for titles. Seriously.
@blanktrigger88634 жыл бұрын
People will always underrate how great the Bulls were. I watch this and go "what other team has ever had 2 or more players who shut out key offensive players like the Bulls had" and the answer is really none, unless you go back to Russell's Celtics.

Todays 3 pt shooters would've had a difficult time getting their shot off with a team like the Bulls had back then. The pressure that the Bulls would put on anyone to win is just remarkable. This team was so physical and hungry to win and this is what today's NBA is missing, the lack of physicality in the game due to the rules. Not the players fault, but just what today's NBA is lacking. Back then it was in your face defense like what was demonstrated here. Like I said before, it would be very difficult to even to get off a 3pt shot under those circumstances. That's what I loved about the Bulls, no matter what strength that their opponent had, they would rethink and generate a defense or offense against their game and make it their own. This was the 1995/96 Bulls team, the greatest team of all time in the game, not to mention the vengeance game for the Bulls and the Magic got swept that year.

When Shaw was on the floor he was often running the point which made Penny less of a factor on the offensive end. The majority of the 2nd half they were going inside to Shaq with Penny standing on the perimeter even after the Bulls went on that big run it made it their set offense too predictable.

Jordan pippen Rodman best defensive front court in the NBA. Rodman was really important for the bulls since grant left the bulls. They needed a interior presence like Rodman who can do the job. Rodman only had his good years in 96 but in 97,98 he was past his prime and issues started happening in the playoffs with the suspensions and ejections.

That be nice if they make a movie of pippen all his skills.

shaq was very dominate this series. Why do you think Longley guarded him most of the time? it was because rodman couldnt. Sure for stretches but he was way to small to play him head up all game with no help. 36 points on 73 percent shooting? isnt being schooled by anyone. He is the teacher.

it should be noted that this wasn't Shaq's prime. In his prime, from 99 - 2004, none of that Era Bulls would be able to stop him in the paint. He was a young immature center at this point and he was still dominant at times
@armandodelossantos7368 жыл бұрын
that's not true at all. Orlando Shaq was better than LA Shaq! The only reason you think that about 99-04' Shaq is because Olajuwon, Ewing, Rodman, Robinson were all old and on their way out. So 99-04' Shaq only had to deal with a busted up Rik Smits, a much lighter Mutumbo, Todd MacCullogh, and Kenyon Martin! When he went up against Olajuwon swept, when he went up against Wallace almost swept, when he went up against Rodman swept! These are facts and your opinion is based off of hype and no competition!

Athletic players that could run the floor always gave Shaq problems, Ben Wallace a decade later was doing practically the same thing to him Rodman did here.
