Imho the best composer ever. He does a lot of similar sounding things but, he has composed some of the best most wonderful music in gaming and in general. I still one day would love to go to a concert. Im just never in the right place at the right time.

They do sound similar, but it's only his motif coming through in his music. The same can be said of Mozart, Bach and the other giants =-] I love that he hasn't betrayed melody like so many musicians have nowadays

This man influenced my life immensely. Final Fantasy, its stories and especially the music, definitely shaped who I am now. Long live the God of video game music. Nobuo mastered the "Composer" job, with his current level being +999.

I completely agree with you. It's next to impossible to get that kind of opportunity anymore because the entire system has been restructured almost 100% around the education system, killing a lot of people's chances at actually getting anywhere real in life, forcing them to become a drone to society. I opted out, and am working on games of my own, something I wouldn't be able to pull off if I followed the path they tried to lie down in front of me >.>

His music has literally changed my life. I swear to God. I will always remember Final Fantasy. Everytime I listen to a song, it takes me back... All the memories. I love Uematsu. I will cry my heart out when Uematsu dies, like the whole world got a deep scar from Michael Jackson`s death.

I remember playing Final Fantasy games for the Super Nintendo back when I was a kid. I didn't realize video game music had such an impact when a few years later I enter an Electronic Boutique's store and there on display was Final Fantasy 7 playing a very familiar theme. I just stood around the display screen wanting to listen to the whole theme and thinking... I best pre-order this game.

Yeah...that last bit about aspiring musicians was nice. And seems very relevant for this time in music. I think a lot of people are listening to music and being influenced to play music a certain way or a certain style...when they hear something they like or something that is doing well for the time. I hear so much music today that sounds quite similar that it just makes me sick. Don't get me wrong...there are a lot of gems out there. Be original...be yourself.
