Conductor was too busy shaking hands with the concert master to properly guide the blind pianist up to the piano. Musical talent with prestige/privilege is one thing, noble and sympathetic soul is quite another.

It always gladdens my heart to witness the impeccable manners of the Japanese - from whom I learn so much! On that “note” 😌 I believe I ought to release my initial shock and disapproval of the Maestro’s apparent rudeness toward his fabulous Guest 😟. True, such an grotesque gesture would be unthinkable in Japan, ⚠️ however; I now think the Conductor lost sight of his manners due to stress. I HOPE I am not being overly charitable, but much time has elapsed, and our Hero of piano (and generosity) continues to thrive! ❤️
Maravilloso Nobuyuki. Dios lo siga bendiciendo. Es un tesoro para mi.

"A dear, very likeable young man with extraordinary musical talent and ability! .An outstanding representative of Japan." Exactly. I am not Japanese, but I agree completely.

I never tire of his beautiful music. I am sure Rachmaninoff would be proud having Nobu playing his music for all of us to enjoy. He has the perfect touch as Sergei would love to hear. Blessings Nobuyuki!!!

Thank you for Nobuyuki Tsujii. It is beautifull !!!
Coming on stage [time mark 2:37], the conductor stops short of guiding Nobu all the way to the piano, and Nobu has to scramble for a few seconds to reach the piano top as he is accustomed to. I think the maestro might have been nervous -- you will see evidence of that at the end of the performance, in the next (and final) installment.
#!&@!O$ ~ ! As soon as the 1st Mvt ended, it stopped ~ ! :'D Anyway. BRAVO, Nobu ~ ! Your rendition of Rachmaninoff is getting better and better every time !
Mr. Tsujii covers the first measure of the first moderato movement, ten degrees on the left hand, but does not seem to hold down the fa on the left hand from the second measure. It is how Rachmaninoff's hand was big, but the sound is beautiful and the performance is amazing.

Great comment. Nobu works very hard to compensate for his smaller hands. As you can see in Part 5 of this series of video, his hands are MUCH smaller than Rachmaninoff's -- most people's are.

Guiding a person by hand is not an easy task. Most people cannot do it well without practice. This conductor probably did not mean to be careless with Mr. Tsujii.
