Going to miss Sam on H3 but awesome opportunity! Glad to see both pods bringing up OCD after her opening up about it and appreciate Howie and Jackie for spreading awareness of it! Just coming out of a two week period where my intrusive thoughts have been almost debilitating and knowing you aren’t alone helps a lot. Unfortunately I’m in Australia and access to OCD specialists are rare, there’s not many and as mentioned in the ep, regular psychologists aren’t really equipped and often exacerbate it; so just saying, if you guys ever want to expand, look to Australia too because it’s needed! Currently in the process of trying to find someone that does ERP and ACT in order to help manage my Harm OCD… cause it and the existential side have held me back from pursuing my photography career, barely posted on Insta in the past 6 months and it’s prevented me from looking for opportunities. With some luck though, soon I’ll be able to be back at it and able to manage the thoughts enough to tackle those life challenges.

I was diagnosed with OCD, anxiety, and MDD as an adolescent. My OCD was outrageous, but I'm grateful I was diagnosed within 5 years of symptoms that my parents had no idea how to react because it was 1 million percent life altering. Howie, your story about reflecting how you had to turn around and change pants because a shoe touched your pants... this same thing has happened with me and my husband! There's no world I can imagine exposure therapy to lick the bottom of a shoe! I can't with the germs! Today's been a rough OCD day, and I appreciate these podcasts to remind me that I am not alone with my intrusive thoughts and mental health struggles! On a happy note, I received the square keg that I won! Thank you so much! My hubby and I are still trying to choose how to fill it, but we are beyond grateful! Thank you for everything! I know it's not easy to be open about everything! Thank you for being advocates ❤️🙏🏼

It makes me feel like a prisoner in my own body, and I notice that it becomes a consistent thought and it isn't rational and I feel alone in it ,cause no one around me truly understands or trys to and the saying "it's all in your head" is so condescending cause yes literally it is but it also feels out of control and something is wrong with me... therapy is expensive and I would love to figure this out .. ty for bringing this to the forefront Howie

I don’t have ocd, but what I will say, I relate. I have severe ADHD So much so I didn’t know I could draw till I was 25 Sounds crazy but thanks to Vyvanse, having a psychiatrist, and a loving family to lean on for comfort, I was able revolutionize my life. It’s very much like ocd, I even at a point couldn’t get into a car without tapping my left and right arm rest equally and repeatedly to get comfortable but just like you said. I knew it wasn’t ocd because at the end of the day, I was able to get comfortable even holding the thought back I could pass that hump, which clearly isn’t ocd but just like ocd, it restricted and changed who I was inside and even out. All I can say is definitely seek out support. You as a human are limitless. There’s just so many advancements we all have to pursue that it would be a shame to have any one of us live half our potential. And no Vyvanse did not cure my adhd, and no there is no cure, but what it did was help me overcome every action it caused. Like forgetfulness, I never realized that could be something I could better in my life but when I tell you, I can finally have people relay on me without me feeling like a burden, that and that alone made me realize my fullest potential. When you realize the hand fighting you was your own and to over come and be able to use the traits as an advantage has just been….. life changing. I hope now to become a world class architect that changes the way we consider a home. Coming from the jungles of Belize I just dream of creating things that have yet to be seen, I’d been like Sam but I was doing things like her at 11, even built my first shed and basketball court at 12 All to not realize how amazing it is to be able to use your head and fuse the combination of hard work and hard mental efforts. I believe this world has so much to overcome and I just want to say. Keep going Howie. This wasn’t about me, this here is so maybe one day over the years someone comes across this video, this comment and relates. If not I’m just happy to be apart of your mission brotha. Truly inspiring. Proud of yall 🙏🏽

Hi, I don't want to complain about your wonderful service or about my own insurance which covers many services. I have Tricare which you NOCD doesn't cover. A lot of your audience probably has that. If you're poor you often join the military and military mental health is awful for active duty, veterans, and spouses, all of which I am or have been. You've got a big market there. I am not complaining about my insurance. I truly believe that it has helped me with what I believe were OCD among other symptoms through TMS (transcranial magnetic stimulation.) It made my triggers, intrusions and compulsions decrease a ton. Not complaining about your amazing service. Just wanted to throw a heads up. I'd love to be able to support you as I have a lot of the struggles from this show
