@Pan_Z3 жыл бұрын
@@SamC77 It just sucks because The Game Awards is, by far, the most popular, despite being obviously influenced by publishers. Here, from The Game Award's Wikipedia page: The Game Awards has an advisory committee which includes representatives from hardware manufacturers Microsoft, Sony, Nintendo, and AMD, along with several game publishers. This committee selects around thirty influential video game news organizations that are able to nominate and subsequently vote on the video games in several categories. The advisory committee otherwise does not participate in the nomination or voting process. During the nomination round, each of the news outlets provides a list of games in several categories; games for the esports-related categories are chosen by a specific subset of these outlets. The committee compiles the nominations and selects the most-nominated games for voting by these same outlets.... Winners are determined by a blended vote between the voting jury (90%) and public fan voting (10%) via social media. Publishers select the voting panel. It's not hard to imagine they pick people that will vote for their games. It's why The Last of Us 2 wins awards, even nonsensical ones, while other games don't even make the nominees. Despite being total bs, these awards shows are great marketing for games. Watching games that deserve the spotlight denied it sucks.
@SamC773 жыл бұрын
@@Pan_Z the categories they have, the nominations and winners are already a HUGE clue that this voting committee is mostly out of touch with gaming and the voting is all on game popularity, not the actual criteria for the award. who the hell is "Newsweek" or "LA times" in gaming?? every "best ongoing game" has always been a joke there were always a better title than what 'won', and remember Destiny2 was nominated the same YEAR it released for "ongoing" game. TGA's nominations and voting and setup is a joke from start to finish. no respectable award show would run the award ceremony in the same year and disrespect the games from that year that released shortly before or after the ceremony. the fact that PUBG or death stranding were nominations is too much. GOTY should always be 2 things: 1 - made well and not buggy, 2 - and greatly recieved/fun. PUBG and death stranding are only 1 of those things listed. we have Dice for the real game awards, no focus on esports, or twitch thots, or out of touch voting committee or running the show in the SAME YEAR. TGA is like Nascar for games, very low standards.

Congrats to Noclip and Supergiant! Hades is truly a great game and I’m so glad we got to follow their story and were able to see their success! It was interesting that they didn't know how well it would do knowing how far it went afterwards

This game is the new Crysis and you wanna put it on the console that couldn't even run Control at a playable framerate? That game wasn't open world and didn't have crowds of NPCs! Management got greedy looking at PS4 install base, there's no other explanation for it. One of the best "making of" video game docs I've ever seen in my life. Just a blast from start to finish with loads of cool moments and fun people to follow. Thank you Noclip and I can safely say you've made a forever fan out of me!

My favourite part of this episode, I watched the bit where Greg was talking about being the 4th top rated game on steam, so I went and checked the steam top rated Its at #2 now, just behind Portal 2. Well deserved Supergiant Hades slaps, and thanks for the great series noclip

I bought this game on switch, and it’s one of my favourite games of all time. I love Greek myth and games like binding of Isaac and this was a match made in heaven for me! I think I had 65 hours in and won’t doubt I’ll get to 100. Great game, great people, great video.

An absolutely delightful documentary, thank you to all the people who contributed! I'm still salty that Hades got robbed at the Game Awards, should have won GotY and Best Direction in a landslide.

I was salty, but also I get it. Nothing was EVER going to beat The Last of Us Part 2 in it's categories. That game was pure award bait, plain and simple.

There are no clip videos and every once in a few years there are noclip videos about supergiant games and it just feels like meeting a family you really love. Kinda weird to say that but the people working there are on my top wanna work with list. They always stay grounded and are so humble and at the same time really great at what they are doing. Guys, keep it on.

Sad to see this series come to an end, but it was amazing. The whole experience and then the game itself, were both amazing. I hope that when Supergiant starts production on their next game you guys can follow them again. Truly incredible work on both parts! :)
