Because originally, she was gonna slowly morph into a Praetorian over the course of the game. This idea was scrapped but you can still see that they were initially developing this idea hence the shadow which wasn't fixed for the final release.

When multiplayer was more consistent and had an active population, I’d pretend that my Praetorian skin WAS 6. Yes, I’m well aware that there’s an actual 6 skin, but I like to treat it as the Praetorian 6’d become before turning into a Queen.

The Alien arc was by far the best, and was a triumph of technology at the time the game was released. Even the reviews for the game noted that the Marine campaign was "basic" and the Predator campaign was "interesting, but not unique or challenging". But the Alien campaign, with its immersive storytelling and its 6 degrees of freedom of movement, really made you feel like you were actually playing a Xenomorph from the movies.

1. in the cutscene at the end we see Doctor Groves the man who had imprisoned you in the beginning of the game and ran away when you broke containment. 2. all the stories are linked in one way or another because when 6 emerges and see the refinery burning is the moment after you defeat the queen as rookie while in the predator campaign you show up long after the queen was killed

Alien campaign goes on its own until like mission 4 when the marine campaign starts. The Predalien is first seen in mission 2 of the predator campaign so clearly it's after the Xeno campaign. I imagine his campaign starts at like mission 3 or possibly even 4 of the marine campaign

It had the same problem that the Descent games had: the six degrees of freedom of movement is extremely disorienting to people who do not have good spatial orientation capabilities. Do you know that if you apply to be a pilot in the Navy, they give you a test to gauge your spatial orientation and awareness capabilities, because it's something that cannot be trained? You either can grasp it or you cannot. The test consists of 150 "questions" which are all multiple-choice. They consist of either sketches looking out an airplane's cockpit follower with sketches of planes in various orientations of flight and the converse. You have to line up the "question" sketch with the correct "answer" sketch. You have 15 minutes to answer the 150 questions. That means that you have to answer 10 questions every minute to get through all of them -- an average of 1 question every 6 seconds. I did exceptionally well on the test, which likely explains why I didn't have any issues playing the Xenomorph!

Sadly it seems Xenomorph eggs do better in hot climates since the Queen is always looking for the warmest areas to brood. She's not there because she ISN'T aware of the danger, it's because it's the warmest place she can find to develop her eggs. That's why the Hive guards these areas so heavily, but clearly it takes time and resources to build up the numbers needed. Queen Mother can only do so much with what she's got and can only do things so fast. Probably why she was watching Six so closely since she needed Six to become a Queen to help her build up their numbers.

If I remember correctly, all three of these campaigns were inter-linked with each other because in the Marine campaign is when you deal with the original queen, the same queen you see being burned at the end of the Xenomorph campaign.

It’s a story mode, of course they win when you play as them. I’d say one experienced predator should be a fair fight against 5 regular xenos. Remember in AVP series they are generally not using their plasma casters because it’s too easy-they seek honor in winning with brute strength or sport hunting gear.

Xenos can be very individualistic. Most will struggle fighting a Yautja (Predator) one on one but some individuals have the skill to do so. A single Xenomorph in the first AVP movie killed 2 Yautja by itself.

I appreciate the way this AvP game pays homage to Gigerian origin of the xenomorph, and more tastefully than Requiem did; the way 6... goes down on the Elite Predator, has him impregnated and then, well, grinds on top of him while roaring in triumph, I think it's obvious what the devs were doing there. same with the tail takedown that almost seems like xeno is first seducing its victims with the stinger

We can't exactly expect Xenomorphs to be logical in the conventional way since they are, by their very nature, VERY unconventional and technically shouldn't be able to exist. So my best guess for her scar is that multiple layers of her exo-skeleton were burned and having been so young when she received it, her armor just converged into that shape. She had to develop what would be her armor-like crown carapaces as a Queen, which is more like bone then "skin," in order to fully remove the damage done to her head. It can also be looked at as allegorical: as number six, she's part of a Hive, but as a Queen she IS the Hive.

As others have mentioned, the 6 xenomorphs that break out (with 6 herself being the first to break out) eventually molt into Praetorians ''The Queen's Guard'' basically, and in most accepted forms of cannon Praetorians are able to molt into a new Queen if the old Queen dies and the hive doesn't have any ''royal facehuggers'' available. Basically, Xenomorphs have so many ways to keep the hive going that it's insane...

This game really is a half and half mixed bag. On the one hand the graphics, Character and Environment design looks gorgeous and still holds up today. The Animations, especially of the Aliens is great. The Predator might just has the best FPS Controls in the entire series, including this Predator Multiplayer Game. But on the other side the game basically has no story, it retcons the Xenomorphs existence by making them Predator Pets, so to speak, The Gameplay is a linear slog, no way to explore the map as you want. The Alien "Story" if you cna call it that, is just go there and kill everything. Every Characters through the same Maps. I really wish this game was a combination of AvP 2010 gameplay and graphics and AvP 2s world and Story.

listen, i get that number six is strong and clever, but the fact that she managed to kill 2 YAUTJAS plus 1 ELITE WOLF predator is wild, no way considering a wolf elite predator can go toe to toe with a predalien, makes 0 sense, it should have been celtic pred vs 6, and then wolf should be the elite pred you play in order to kill the abomination that 6 created by defeating hunter (celtic), makes more sense!
