It's okay, but for the money, there are better options these days. You would probably be better off with something like a Coolermaster Sickleflow or Arctic P12.

Yeah! I had bought 4 of these at some point and ended up never using them. Today I refreshed my case and cooling situation, so I decided to try these. I can't run them past 500-550 RPM or the whine is unbearable. I hear it through my headset while watching a video at pretty good volume. Decided to not stop the shopping spree there, and got 4 Phanteks T30s. Hopefully I can at least reach 1000 RPM silent on those.

Thank you for posting these videos. My hearing is sensitive to different tones, so hearing people say "It's pretty quiet" really doesn't help when shopping around. For me, this fan lacks the higher pitch that many fans irritate me with these days. Question: Do you use a PWM controller for PWM fans? Your fans are spinning at much lower speeds than the factory lists, so I'm just curious if I can repro these low speeds.

Completely agreed. It's always interesting when (and this happens pretty rarely) a reviewer switches from noise-normalized graphs to actual working sound - and suddenly you hear all the different rattles, clackings, whines and squeakings that produced that formal average. Actual sound profile is way, way more important than the pure agregate, since a pleasenter sound with less resonance and smoother pitch will be less annoying even when louder.

Yes, same here, I always avoid higher pitched fans. If low pitch is technically louder in some comparison, higher pitch is perceived louder by our ears.

Personally I think the A12x25 is worth the extra money, also consider the Phanteks T30.

One question I want to buy that fan, but when I install it it comes with some software to configure it, because I don't know if I should always set it to the speed of 1700 and I don't know if this is equivalent to 100% of its use, since I play daily and I stream from 4 hours to a maximum of 8 hours sometimes, with an R9 5900x + Rtx 3070TI? or what do you recommend?

You can use software to adapt it's RPM's automatically by temperature and workload.

Did it get annoying at about 1250RPM? Seemed to go up a notch in noise then, but it was a steady hum at least?

Kind of. It could be due to the original NF-P12 having a speed of 1300 RPM, so that is probably the speed this rotor was designed to run at. Now, this redux version has exactly the same rotor design, but cranks it up to 1700 RPM for a top speed. It certainly still works at that speed, but its probably not very optimised for speeds >1300 RPM.

It depends on older hps there is a thermal section where you can set the idle fan speed, but this may not exist on newer models, using speedfan or Fan Control may work too, but Fan Control is the easiest to use

Those are super loud, I change all of that noctuas for be quiet 140mm or 120mm arctic p12, and wow super quiet

Could you come up with a fan tierlist? It could include categories like best fans for low rpm, high rpm, rgb, non rgb, different sizes. Etc...

I was thinking about doing that. It would become outdated at some point, and I would need to back it up with some actual testing data, but it is a good idea for something to do at least every year, or maybe every quarter.

would you recommend me this fan over FK120 Deepcool? i'm going to use it forcase ventilation which is better in terms of better airflow , noise .. keep in mind i have nzxt h500 case :D :D Thanks for your efforts
