I met him once. He was so genuine and sweet. He had done a show in NYC and after the show I happened to see him getting into the car so I stopped to tell him I enjoyed the show. He got out of the car and we had a nice chat until one of his security told him he really needed to get back in the car. He shrugged and gave me a hug.

Jean-Michelle Basquiat. absolute genius, ended up really close friends with Warhol. it's a tragic story though, and both of them died very close to each other. he was 27. there's a very moving biopic (just called "Basquiat"), with impeccable casting including David Bowie as Andy Warhol, directed by a friend of his. there's a good documentary about him as well. he was discovered for his graffiti, was homeless at the time, and a year or two later a star of the international art world. one of my favorite artists as well. I found out about him through an internship sort of thing that brought me close to that world, years before I discovered the boosh. I always suspected Noel was a fan.

I was born in 85, my first album was a cassette the second was a CD. maybe his family were early adopters, or maybe he meant collecting albums during teenage years idk. I had a CD/tape player stereo thing as early as I can remember.

CD's and DVD's suck cuz their too easily damaged. Vinyl is fragile too, but less so. Prefer vhs over DVD. More reliable. Sad that its obsolete. Much like myself. Kind of difficult to play vinyl in your cars dashboard player though.
