Noel's versions, to me, are the best. That being said doesn't mean that I'm disregarding the original! Liam's voice was basically the bedrock of the Oasis sound. Noel just puts in the appropriate amount of emotion and meaning when he sings. I think Liam lost his touch after this album...probably from all that pressure caused by blur in the, "Chart Wars".

I know it's very unlikely, but I see this being the perfect lineup for HFB. The other guitarist never won me over, Gem just fits in. Terry is a sensational percussionist and I have no issue with Russ staying on bass. I don't know, this lineup just seems to work. It melds, they seem more of a unit.

@ lawrobi - Liam wrote several songs for Oasis - and even Noel said they were good. "I'm outta time" and "Born on a different cloud" are EXCELLENT. Liam STILL writes now - he wrote 6 of the ones off As you were - "I've all I need" is my favourite. Liam NEVER claimed to be a songwriter, nor a musician. Noel ALWAYS wrote music - even before he joined Oasis - writing is very easy for him and he is brilliant at it! I never understand people who think the only way to appreciate Noel is to bash Liam. I enjoy both of their music, both of their voices. LIAM + NOEL = OASIS - you can't have one without the other.

I seriously don’t understand why he let anyone else sing songs he wrote. I was never an oasis fan because I didn’t like the singers voice. I didn’t realize Noel was the one singing the oasis songs I actually liked. Got curious when the reunion b was announced and started looking into oasis again and discovered Noel wrote 99% of the songs. I like Noel singing all these songs. Liam sings with the microphone shoved half way up his nose and that’s exactly how his vocals sound. Don’t get why people like it. Everyone has their own bag.

He started singing it like this lately. Noel said something about the cover that Ryan Adams did and I guess he's kinda influenced by the cover of his own song, I mean singing it like that. It's kind of a mix between the cover and Liam's vocal lines (which I believe were the original lines Noel wrote). I highly doubt Liam wrote anything for the band until 2000, even vocal lines.
