I’ve never heard someone teach you loads of information and yet still feel like you’re listening to a great story by a campfire. His charisma and story telling is off the charts and packed full of wisdom.

It's pleasing to listen to him talk about what he knows and likes. It's rare to see a real human being nowadays with life flowing through him. Compare the life in his eyes and voice to our politicians and to average urbanized people, with their stilted way of speaking and their hangups and morals and lack of skills and lack of any connection to a culture or their humanity. They seem subhuman by comparison. It's grotesque what most humans have become.

I'm Cherokee and my family is from the hills of North Carolina. When I was a kid I wasn't interested much in my people's history, skills and traditions. I was interested in fast cars and big block motors! I still like the hot rods but since I have gotten older I am very interested in things about my family. A lot of the people I could have learned from are gone now. I have met other people of the Cherokee people who are teaching me things but I truly love watching these videos and learning what Mr Grayson is sharing. Thank You, John

Ask around. There aren't many that have Mr. Grayson's ability to explain things with such simplicity, but there are plenty out there who have collected knowledge that might surprise you. Some charlatans exist of course, but it doesn't take much work to try what they say and find who knows what you're looking for.

Very nice voice, slow and quiet (as mostly native voices), peacefull, I love his explanations, it's like "good sense", normal, just natural... It's often like that for natives. It's should be like that for white people too, but most of the time, it's not :) I don't know if I explained it well... It's just ful off good sense, everything make sense, you know? Stay natural, use what the nature gave, respect the natural logic. Just find to good way to work with it, don't go against it.

i really like your videos. i subscribed. river cane dont grow where im at. and the reeds are too weak to use. so i use shoots. my next bow and arrow set im going to try to make it with all stone,bone,and antler tools. ive always used sinew if i had some. plant fibers if i didnt. i like nettles for that. Osage isnt very frequently found in the part of Ohio im at. but theres lots of white woods such as Elm, Ash, Maple, as well as 2 types of Locust. {my favorite}. whats your favorite bow wood? thanks

@redtobertshateshandles3 жыл бұрын
We Europeans only found out about that stuff from someone else. Egyptians, Greeks etc. These people and Australian Aboriginals had no contact with the technology. Aboriginals didn't bother with the bow coz the spear did everything they needed. They really used a bigger atlatl. So don't go getting all racially superior.

Ryan gill does something smart with his cane arrows, before he puts in the arrow head he inserts a smaller piece of cane into the hole of the river cane, Reinforces the structural integrity and adds some weight.
