The bulk of people that say they are "Hawaiian" are NOT. Their families came from China, Japan, Philippines, Portugal etc to work in the pineapple fields. They are foreigners too. There are only 8% of the Hawiian population that is TRUE blood hawaiian those people live on the forbidden Hawaiian Island. it is up to those that OWN the property to decide what they want to do with their rebuild. The bulk of those that lost their homes/business want to rebuild the same to honor those that parished. REPECT their decision.

The Hawaiian people MUST hold reponsible the ones that failed them. If you do not hold them accountable and punish them, then it will happen again. Josh Green, the mayor, the chief of police, the siren man, the water boy must be removed and arrested. The blood in on their hands.

She's saying nobody should be allowed to rebuild, that she wants a memorial even (just like governor green had said)... If she stops people from getting their property back (be the howlie or native) SHES the greedy land grabber, putting her agenda above those who lost everything. She seems almost giddy that it burned down so that it will "never be a tourist attraction" again. Crass.

We lived in Hawaii for years. I loved every minute of it and miss it with all my heart. However the most important thing I took away with me was, Hawaii is a sacred land and it belongs to the people. NOT the investors, builders, big hotels or those that would suck the life out of it. The people will prevail, the Dragon has spoken…🐲
@barbara6269

Excuse me, but Hawaii is owned by a few billionaires from outside of the islands. The people sold thousands of acres to these billionaires and they will never get most of Hawaii back as long as they continue to sell to these land grabbing people. I would venture to say the wealthy interlopers own the greater percentage of Hawaii. Someone said that Lahaina ruined Oprah's ocean view. I never understood how Maui would allow a few rich people to buy up their land. Don't blame it on the American citizens on the mainland. You sold your birthright to a bunch of carpet baggers and scalawags.
@denisestinnett4414
@denisestinnett4414 9 ай бұрын
@@barbara6269 I am sorry you misunderstood what I said. It is not money that binds the people to Hawaii but sacredness. They were sold out and stolen from and it continues to this day. What would YOU do if the US military showed up, imprisoned your queen and stole your lands?Yes, Hawaii is “owned” in the sense of money by outsiders from all over the world. They may “own” buildings, hotels, stores, etc. but they will never “own” Hawaii or the true Hawaiian hearts. It is a meeting of sacred versus the profane. A real stickler in our modern world where money talks and everything else gets the boot. 🤙

I do understand with what Barb is saying. Many states who had very affordable housing got dollar signs in their eyes when they found out they could sell their house/land for 2+ times the amount as market price because rich ppl offered it to them. Now people are renting, scrambling to make ends meet and most can never have the dream of owning their own home because of selfish sellers and land grabbers. If ppl sold their home/land to locals for affordable prices things would be much different. This ultimately is a tangled web across the US.

The Dragons has spoken?? Doesn't sound very good. Also, if the natives want THEIR land back they should take it up with the Bishop estate, not steal the land back after a fire. Not to mention, very few people in Hawaii are actually natives.

The same thing happened in British Columbia Canada, in the Kelowna Shuswap areas, where land by lakes was destroyed there are also historical facts that, Gulf Islands National Park Reserve (GINPR), a sprawling national park made up of protected lands scattered across 15 islands and numerous islets and reefs in the Salish Sea. Over the next 15 years, 17 abandoned orchards, on eight of the islands, were studied by Parks Canada archaeologists and cultural workers in order to gain a glimpse into the lives of early settlers in the region. On Portland Island, a new park sign told me, the heritage apples including Lemon Pippin, Northwest Greening, Winter Banana and Yellow Bellflower had been planted by a man called John Palau, one of the hundreds of Hawaiians who were among the earliest settlers in the region.The Gulf Islands are comprised of dozens of islands scattered between Vancouver and Southern Vancouver Island. With a mild climate and bucolic landscapes, it’s been the continuous unceded territory of Coast Salish Nations for at least 7,000 years. it is Your land On Your land. Sending the greatest respect.

It is happening in a different way where I live. Where I live it is a holiday destination but has always been seen as a poorer area so people from the rich areas weren't interested in living here until the pandemic and then the houses were being bought en masse by these rich people because they realised just how quiet and tranquil it was and they started outpricing generations of locals as the prices started getting worse for local people who no longer can afford the properties so are being pushed out and it is being taken over in a slow gentrification. Our families have always been looked down on for being miners, fishermen and farmers and we didn't have the fancy restaurants and shops but we had the vast wildlife and greenery and were poor but lived life in the countryside and by the sea. They then moved here through Covid to have the freedom we had unlike the cities and suddenly realise they don't like the tranquillity or the smell of farms so they start changing everything by buying up beautiful little cottages bulldozing them and replacing them with glass monstrosities ruining the whole area with their greed. They then carve up the landscape with bigger roads because they don't like the little country lanes and they want to get places quickly because they don't like the slow tranquil pace of life. They want it now and instant. Everything that we loved that was simple and beautiful has been changed into this soulless built up monster. It is heartbreaking. If you live simple happy lives with nature they will take it from you but expect if they rebuild Lahaina it will be a modern soulless shxhole. Resist! Do not let them take your land. It happened slowly with our county over the past few years, with Lahaina it is blatantly obvious. God Bless Hawaii🙏

I have seen this happening in PA for quite some time even before covid, it is hard for the locals to find a decent place to live because the New Yorker's have been buying up all the real estate and raising the prices pushing us out, you are right they tear it down and build a monstrosity so they can come up here and make a s--t hole out of the place and they don't like the service, go back where you came from, the are coming from Jersey too with their fast life styles. If you like the city stay there, If I lived in Hawaii I would put up a fight, they need to get that govt out of there, but unfortunately this is going on all over the USA and other countries, as we are living in the end times and this has been prophesied in the bible, that everything as we knew it would be destroyed to bring in a new world order run by nothing but demons because they hate mankind. What an ugly ugly world we live in and this is happening because too many people are asleep and refuse to accept the truth

Yet that's exactly what SHE wants to do, but for her own reasons. Anybody whonisnt actively trying to get the people who owned that property their property rights BACK, is a land grabber. Even if it seems like their goals are altruistic (like workplace housing or memorials), if they aren't helping those who lost everything and taking this as an opportunity to "rethink" or "take back" the land IS the land grabber. If she wants native land back, why doesn't she take it up with the Bishop Estate instead of taking advantage of the situation and blaming those who died and lost everything for her percieved "suffering". The land belongs to whoever owned it before it burned down, PERIOD.

Good for you!!!! I stand with you islanders. I went to the big island and LaHaina Maui. Stayed at the Kamehameha hotel and a condo, in We took the trip to Hana and the volcano. I was so thrilled to learn the history of the islands and stay where your ancestors lived and walked. The beauty is breathtaking. Please to all Hawaiian people, stay strong. Fight to save your land. They have no rights to it. Take the property back from Oprah, Zuckerberg, Gates and others who think they own it. Lease only to foreigners with, strict terms and regulations. No factories who will pollute your land. I’m sorry, I’m so passionate about the islands that that I name my animals after towns there. May God bless you and keep you all in his mighty hands.

The moment that I even heard that your home, Lahaina, was on fire. The immediate next thought that followed was “The Government/Investors did this”. Days later I hear many of you speaking what I suspected. For those who are saying the Gov lost our trust. The Gov never had my trust, as I learned as a child of all the heinous crimes they’ve committed against the people. I’m not shocked at all when they murder the people, that has always been their nature… destruction.

This woman is doing the governors bidding. Her saying nobody should rebuild, it should be a memorial or the natives should get their land back is just as crass. People whose property burned deserve to get their land back PERIOD. No "peoples representative" should be trying to take the land from those who lost everything. Her altruistic agenda is no different than that of the Governor... She's doing his bidding, either wittingly or unwittingly

Yeah! Let's use the tragedy to steal land from anybody who isn't native! Who cares if they lost loved ones, or their hard earned homes... It's burned now so the 8% of natives now get to take it.... Seriously.... These people are no less selfish than the rich... they don't mind taking land back through the ashes of dead people, even if those people owned that land and have lived there for generations. If they don't have native blood, to em, right?

I am Choctaw from my Father's family. America took beautiful prime land from Native Americans and sent them to a comparable wasteland. Don't let that happen to native Hawaiians. Please, DO NOT let anyone take away your land or reappropriate its use to accommodate outsider's plans. The counless lives lost on the land that burned makes that land SACRED! 💔 Stand Strong!!!

Just like the Governor said, right?? You are unwittingly siding with the land grabbers. Every person who lost their home needs to get it back, PERIOD. We absolutely cannot allow communists to set people's property on fire and then steal it from them because some "representative of the people" has it out for the white man. It wasn't just Natives who lost their homes and loved ones... Each person deserves to rebuild, not be bullied by communists who thinks their bloodline gives them the right to override private property rights. She didn't even grow up in Maui, but she thinks she deserves to decide what happens to that land ... It's gross.

If this woman had her way it will never be rebuilt, because of her lineyshe thinks she has the right to that land and those who lost it are "the bad guys". She's ushering communism and bleeding hearts are buying into it NO, the land does not belong to anybody who has native blood, it belongs to whoever owned it before it burned down. She is HELPING the government usher in communism. They aren't getting their government back (which was brutal, btw), they are not gonna return to the old ways. Instead they are working with the corrupt government to decide what happens to that land .. "The People" should say what happens to it, she says... Well, no It's private property and allowing "people committees" to steal land and abolish private property is communism 101. She's doing the bidding of the WEF, whether she realizes it or not

I admire how much you look to the ancestors for so many generations. It's so important. My Ukrainian ancestors I lost because everything was bombed out. An attempt at genocide. Not unlike what just happened. Your words are Beautifully and powerfully spoken with gentle certainty. I feel the strength and all hearts believing in the vision you provided, including the vision of the Lahaina, Hawaiian people feels like a vision that we can all share. People globally are helping & supporting you to keep your ancestral lands and rich history that's way more important than 5 star hotels. MaryAiñe
