For anyone wondering what to do about breaking the 3 rules, I think I'd just go with stacking effects of exhaustion. Being VERY clear to the players as to what's the cause of those effects. You can describe it as a feeling of being crushed by immense magic, or the realm itself trying to erase them. The effects are weaker on outsiders, that's why the PCs are not annihilated right away and only gradually, but the locals will avoid breaking the rules at any cost (otherwise I'm pretty sure the hags would gladly take disadvantage as price to pay for their misbehavior). The negative effects may wear off after PCs right their wrongs and make up for them.

In my game the windmill is going to be where they make the weather. The players may be able to slip an extra ingredient into the windmill and summon a specific weather if they want to cause some chaos.

What if the windmill leads to other domains in the faywild roiled over by other archfay?

The windmill should be connected to the weather vane. If the mood is good the windmill is still, if the mood goes down the windmill generates stormy bad weather.

In my play through the Windmill is a Prison surrounded by swirling storms of magic. If an individual does not follow the Rule of the land they are sent to the prison, and obviously now we need to beak them out.

Awesome stuff! And I'm sure there would be plenty of other prisoners too!

I'm glad I'm not the only one to see that windmill surrounded by clouds and wonder what the heck it is! That's something the bugs me about a lot of adventure maps. I think I'll do something with it with my players.

I’m thinking about having time run faster Prismeer ever since the time freeze at the palace. Three heroes lost their youngest sibling when they snuck in 8 years prior. The sibling will be very old when they unite in Prismeer! Perhaps Zybilna and or the unicorn horn can restore youth. When they exit Prismeer hardly any time has passed in the real world. Lots to think about. Lots of options!

haha for sure!

@@NoFunAllowed On second thought that’s allot of time to pass in Prismeer with Z frozen if I want the sibling to be 80 years old! Guess I have to figure out how much time has passed in Prismeer since the time freeze. 8 years? Maybe 8 years in real world is 3 in Prismeer!!? Keeping with the 8’s and 3’s theme. Now I’m leaning towards this!!

In my campaign that windmill is actually Old Bonegrinder and if they make for it they're transported to Barovia. So in my campaign The Hourglass Coven and the three hags from Curse of Strahd are one and the same

@@NoFunAllowed It was mostly because of the fact that Curse of Strahd is the next arc my players are going to go on following the conclusion of their business in Prismeer. If Zybilna is released from her enchantment and any of the hags are still alive they're going to teleport there to escape her wrath

One thing you didn't mention is that the adventure actually ties the missing traits with magic items. Example: "If your player is missing 3 inches from their height, the Hag has a Collapsible Poll in their home. Retrieving it restores the player's height."

For sure, I'm just too fixated on a missing sibling haha

Fantastic video! I just found your channel and I'm about to run this for a group...one question I had is if you use Mydrock as the hook..what need is there for the players to interact with the hags? Also, if the hags realize you are there to free Zybilna, wouldnt they attack the players upon discovery?

It never says in the book when/where you should tell your players the Rules of Conduct. How would you do it naturally? (Without just giving the players the text outside of play.)
@NoFunAllowed2 жыл бұрын
I would at first have a twangy sound stir up when anyone doesnt abide by the rules at first accompanied by something bad happening to them, and then when anyone asks about it, they are told the rules!

The windmill is a shadows crossing for the old bonegrinder, going straight to Barovia. I like the idea of arriving in prismere by a hot air balloon that's about to crash at a random location.

Hi, I wanted to ask you if in your opinion for those who do not respect the rules of conduct do you believe there should be a punishment (idk maybe a magical one) or just a warning from the NPCs?
@NoFunAllowed3 жыл бұрын
Id say give them a warning first, and then if they break it, then a magical punishment! it could be disadvantage on something they do, it could be someone having advantage against them, or it could just be them being the unlucky one in the group!

What I still don't understand: What happens if anyone were to violate the rules of hospitality, reciprocity or ownership? Or is it that they just simply can't be violated no matter how hard they try?

RAW, theres nothing there. What I would recmend is leaning on punishment for those that violate the rules!

@No Fun Allowed Actually I am planning to run Thither before Hither, so they may need to go back to Thither after buying the unicorn horn in Hither (trinkets I rolled a one lol) (elidon). Why will they do that, I thought? I decided to make Lamorna say Elidon is in Thither. Apparently, so (because I am rearranging what the guides know, so Thither s guide now show to get to hither, not yon) they will be able to go back to Thither as they have encountered squirt. :) thanks for the vid and reply! Edit I also think that the horn should not be in the palace, so I rolled a d6
