I love his drumming so much. So fast, so precise, so fun, so original, it's an absolute pleasure to listen to. I can listen to Hi-Standard songs again and again and still discover new notes on the drums here and there (and I've been listening to them since the 90s), understanding some fillings better that are hard to catch at the speed he used to play. Definitely a drummer that left his mark on me, and he's a drummer I'll never forget, playing in a band I'll probably be listening to till the end of my life. RIP Akira Tsuneoka and all my best sincere feelings from France to his family and friends.

I love both NOFX and Hi-standard deeply and deeply. Thank you NOFX from the bottom of my heart. I'll go see you when I come to Japan. Of course Tsune is with me too!!
Trip on this… I grew up in the Bay Area and saw NOFX in 1985 because they played at a pizza joint in Redwood City called Pony Express Pizza that I happened to hang out at in high school. I bought an Ep. One of the first 500 ever, from Fat Mike. I saw them a few years later in a club in SF and they didn’t suck as much. Then I saw them in 89 and they were better. Then a chick turned me on to Ribbed. I was like, hey, I remember them! Holy shit balls! Well, nearly 40 years later, I’ve seen them on 3 continents in 4 countries about 20x and they are by far, the greatest band ever. I don’t think there’s a question. I almost played support for you guys in 1994 in San Jose (just in case anyone in Fat reads this). But my singer had a problem with some other band that couldn’t draw flies but wanted the support slot, so he said no. I went to the Cow Palace show. I’m live now in Phx. I’m going to be in Denver with a bro pass and I’m going to bring the Ep. Maybe it’ll get signed? And I have the 3 day pass in San Pedro. There isn’t a chance in the world that I would miss the last shows. Especially the last one. I cried when Fatty cried in SF. I also got teary during The Decline. Montana, Germany, Perth, and all over California. Check out my thumbnail. 😊

This sounds like some other songs blended into one. But another gem. This is Fatty. At least in his own mind 😂. He has lived an amazing life and his songs are eternal. In my humble opinion, Mike Burkett is the greatest composer and songwriter of the last 41.36 years. He started out learning, but he came out strong about 32 years ago and has been EPIC ever since. The work ethic, the company, the confidence, the braggadocio… The honesty, humility and dedication and passion have made this the most important band in the last 30 years. Long live NOFX. THANK YOU.
