Nofx kills the first half of this album. Then Rancid manages to turn the knob up to 12. This album changed my life. I listen to it at least once a week. thank you to everyone involved in making this happen.

When this album was released, I was at Warped Tour, and at the end of the festival we were hanging out in the back by the tour buses, there was a box on the ground full of posters promoting this split. Probably 1,000 of them. They became my bedroom wallpaper, lol.

Mike is every bit as talented when it comes to studio stuff, but just not as flashy as Matt. On Tenderloin, his chops (pun intended) are probably something Matt could struggle reproducing.

Corazon de Oro is probably my favorite. Not so much this song but Mike really holds his own on the Bass parts, I don't think anyone excepted him to be able to keep up but he really impressed me. I can't remember what year this was, I kind of remember it being 2001 or somewhere around that time and I clearly remember going back to heavy petting zoo after this and finding a new respect for his musicianship, especially on that album. I think most people consider Punk in Drublic to be there best album but Heavy petting zoo definitely has more personality. I think the Black and white is my favorite song of there's

God I've not listened to this for well over a decade. I always remembered thinking that NOFX made the Rancid songs sound like their own - as if they'd written them themselves, while the Rancid versions of the NOFX songs sounded like covers. The Rancid version of Stickin' in my Eye is so awesome though. Every time I used to play it on bass, I always threw in the Matt Freeman intro instead of the Fat Mike version

Somehow one time I was in Baltimore for NOFX, army crawled through peoples legs until running into the front row barricade. Hack squared some chick out of the way. Mike gave me his vodka cranberry from the stage. Also met Lars once outside of the 9:30 club. Super nice guy. Punk rock is still awesome.

I always thought I was super lucky to grow up with punk rock parents. My first show ever was AFI and Sick Of It All, first album was Op Ivy Energy. I've seen some amazing times in Punk Fuckin Rawk, but it definitely makes the low times (like right now) seem and feel much lower than they really are.

I like more the NOFX side, not just because I always liked NOFX more, but because the songs they picked and how they made them sound. Rancid picked simple songs, more "commercial" and their versions sounds like the originals.

That's the version I own. The orange one. I don't even remember where I bought it . . . 🤔 And I *might* have been at that show. I saw NOFX quite a few times at the Huntridge and HoB in Vegas. I grew up in St. George, UT and we'd drive down to Vegas all the time for concerts n whatnot. (Did Lagwagon open for them at that particular show?)

I concur, my friend. Top shelf tunes there, eh? I learned of Frank Turner several years ago via a random Fat Mike tweet and was like, "Who the hell is this bloke?!" I've been an enormous fan ever since. Frank is the best.
