same here, im a cancer survior {tho they think i may have it again, need more tests} and oddly enough, cancer survivors and those going though it do the darkest jokes and think its funny, everyone I had ever met in hospitals and offices {im actually a very very sick guy, autoimmune + brain tumor + birth defects = a lot of trips and months in the hospital} and it used to be our standered jokes of "you dead yet? nope they wont take me/ nope but not for lack of trying!" and such like losing hair, I myself have long long white hair {albino} and didn't lose it during chemo, and we used to joke who they would wait till i was asleep and steal it, or i would threaten to shave it {Ima male but a lot of the woman there loved brushing and i would let them, this was before covid} all in all, as long as the cancer joke isn't pointed to one person, then make all the jokes you want, we really don't care and tell darker ones lol
