It has been a while since I used any non-hero banshees. I busted out my La Malinche after several years, with a standard engine and 3 BPLs it can fire off 1 by 1 or alpha all 3 of them and be quite stable. Use that as a sucker punch of 54 damage to absolutely ruin someone's day, then go back to chain firing them. You can do it with surprising heat efficiency, and it zombies quite well. It is rare to score less than 800 with it when i run in matches.

I don't have the 3S, but I have a couple of 3E's. I run 1 of them with 2 PPCs, a HPPC, and an AC10 - doesn't matter where you put the HPPC it's always in the waist. and the other 3E I run with 3 LPPCs and 4AC2s for a lot of long range plinking - gonna have to try it with LAC5s.

I was running 4 LAC/5s and 4 ER mediums on a 3E last night, performed rather well. The light PPCs with the LAC/5s just ends up a bit too toasty.

I don't have a pc to play MWO, can you tell me what the point of having more than one is?

@@dutchvanderlinde248 Some mechs have multiple ways they can be played (long range/short range, laser/ballistic/missile, etc) and having multiple copies of the mech mean you don't have to rebuild every time you want to play a different style.

I recently tried to make a 3LPPC and 4LAC5 build on the Christmas Banshee, and it felt like the armor was as thin as paper. Crazy-vulnerable mech.

I don't have a PC to play MWO on, but in MW5 that's the opposite of what I notice. I find that Banshees feel more durable than Atlases, whether stock or modified to not have the ridiculous amount of back armor. The hitboxes are deceptively great imo.

Not with this particular build, but I found myself pressing the mouse button, wondering why the SBGR doesnt fire multiple times now. This was because the chargeup is so fast that you can shoot almost instantly, which caused me to hold the button shorter and shorter, leading me to not pressing it long enough.

I love my Banshee, especially late game. 3x RAC2s and 2x LPPCs. It’s a fire superiority mech that does well in a push - the velocity is about the same for both weapons, so at any range if your RACs are on target, the PPCs will also hit. It requires patience and face time, but if you can hold out until midgame, it’s a crit monster.

Banshee is on the pretty side of ugly. I run one the same, but with 2 Heavy PPCs and another ML instead of the 3 PPCs.

Can you put the two HPPCs in the high mounts? I can't.

@@TheGantus that's what the other ML is for. You have to fill the lower mounts to push the big guns up high. And the order you have to add them in is weird.

@@TheGantusBanshee 3S... right torso has five energy mounts. First added goes low, second and third added goes high, fourth and fifth go low.

@@TheGantusHuh. You know what... I can't either now. When they changed the high mount sizes months ago, I built the 3S with two Heavy Peeps in the high mounts. Then I rebuilt into another loadout, and when I try to put the 2 HPPC's back today... I can't. So something changed again. Looks like only 6 crit slots worth of weapons can be in the top two mounts now. Most odd.
