If I were to make a private server I would remove all benefits for maxing (so no skillcapes or perks) rebalance all skills to have way lower requirements and then crank down the xp rates dramatically, opening up room for a new late game. Bring back that old feeling of what it was like when level 50 was the shit and people got 99s because they wanted to not because they felt forced to. That way it becomes less about the destination and more about the journey, just like things used to be. I would also make minigame sets like penance on the level of void, being extremely powerful and worth using at all levels of play, and bring over a few things from RS3 that actually made the game better. Things like type splats, accuracy redesign, the surge ability and a really toned-down EOC special attack system which takes the original combat system and enhances what's there rather than turning the game into world of warcraft like the main game tried. That's right, every weapon is getting a special attack and while most aren't going to be much more than 'do more damage' most of them will have some kind of use-case. Special attack energy also charges much faster to improve the pacing of combat. I'm also fixing run, having 99 agility with 0kg should allow permanent run, flat out. You'll also gain small amounts of experience just from running around the world, though nowhere near as much as doing an agility course. Because agility courses (and *especially* shortcuts) now use up run energy, they'll be the most efficient run energy -> exp method to reward players who want to train it exclusively without requiring it outright for the rest of the playerbase.

I'd probably do a HCIM with slight increases to drop rates, skilling xp, and game speed so it's less grindy but still challenging

would be very fun to host servers/worlds. to help people boss easier. the one thing my clans struggle with most is being to scared and inexperienced to tackle any boss. i had to guide a few people no joke to do MOLE i dont name call but it was kinda embarrasing to hear people wont even touch the giant mole cuz they to scared. or barrows. perilious. huey. i pretty much suck at pvm as well. but after practice i could beat said bosses. even managed to beat seren and sins of father. but was sad the clan i joined wont do bosses.

You can’t always just jam more software developers on a project and make it go faster. There’s such a thing as too many cooks in the kitchen, so to speak. More devs usually means more projects going at once, not individual projects progressing at a faster rate.

I'm working on getting some people irl into the game, they are struggling and low key we might just have more fun on these private server things as they will most likely never make it to any group content stuff in the game. for a reference she has been "playing" off and on for 4 or 5 months and not even wt ready. maybe a couple of hours a week sort of thing.

We are still friends but she is like really wanting sex, which, low key, I don't find her attractive, and she can't even really get to wt without me chaperoning her around in game. meh. realistically If you try and get any new person into the game you can't really do anything meaningful with each other. the first real group activity is wintertodt which does take maybe 8 or so hours if following nightleaf efficiency guide to get to.

@@ate_shroom Think he means you only have a limited amount of options which makes it pretty much some custom game mode with some boxes you can tick on and off. If you want to change very specific things like new quests and stuff like that probly not possible since it requires custom coding the private server but I might be wrong will see how they implement it I guess

but it does battle those private servers. which before was the only way to play osrs... until jagex asked : do you guys really want this? and i recall over 600.000 people voted YES and like gaben said it best. if u wanna battle piracy sell the product but better. or something close to that. meaning we get private servers. without possible malware virusses etc. and jagex profits.
