He just makes movies doesn't think about the style. Love that.

Go read Mamet's BAMBI VS. GODZILLA. One of the best non-fiction accounts on Hollywood ever. Right up there with ADVENTURES IN THE SCREEN TRADE.

I adore Mamet... so it's very frustrating to deal with the lousy sound quality here. Unforgivable.

Talking about films being lumped into Noir. I would love to know Eddie's opinion of whether a Western could be (I say no way) a Film Noir. "Blood on the Moon" is often referred to as such. Just a great western starring a Noir icon in black and white, but with too many essential elements missing is what I think.

I don't know what Mamet is talking about referring to the Bach "Toccata" being just a repetition of a c-minor triad. Huh???

It's too difficult to hear Mamet to warrant continuing. What a shame.

Respect Dave but he always says odd things like he didn't quite get Eugene O' Neil or he didn't quite get Dashielle Hammet what's not to get in the masterpieces LongDaysJourneyIntoNight or The Maltese Falcon??!!!
