This is a wonderful example showcasing the pure sound of Noire. NI and Galaxy Instruments have done a great job with this library. I own multiple piano sample libraries (some considerably bigger and more expensive) but Noire has become my goto for general piano duties. However, there is one flaw with this instrument and that is it doesn’t support Una Corda! I really miss this for some classical recordings and end up having to use a different library when this is required. I would even be happy with modelled Una Corda which some companies have successfully implemented and would happily pay a small upgrade fee for this! I’m hoping NI/ Galaxy Instruments will add this in an update at some point in the future.

I know the pianos are pretty good but don't know about the other instruments such as violin, cello, trumpet, sax etc etc.
@InTheMixReviews3 жыл бұрын
Thank you Col. I'm not a big fan of sample libraries for stage performances. To me that's just not convenient. For home/studio usage, I have both set ups. Kronos is awesome for instant satisfaction type of thing. It's nice to have a platter of bread and butter type of sounds at your disposal without having to play around with libraries and stuff. Even then I never use the onboard sequencer to actually record anything, as nothing beats a DAW. But when it comes to more extensive recordings (orchestral arrangements in particular), sample libraries are a blessing. They offer so much more for a dedicated instrument or a family of instruments than any workstation ever will. It really depends on your workflow and priorities.

I could never understand why people run the same midi file through bunch of libraries and come up with these comparison videos. Each preset or library needs to be played separately. Thank you Luis. I know of Garritan CFX, but I've never played it. Honestly at this point, I don't see how that older library could compete with NOIRE.
@AlexHerrero5 жыл бұрын
I have it and I don't think it competes. But again, I'll need to test Noir myself, in my personal quest of finding inspiration in the piano vibrations, after using Keyscape, Ivory, Hans Zimmer and Garritan...

Alex Herrero so you’re saying you like Noire better? I’m going to play it in a band setting.
@AlexHerrero5 жыл бұрын
@@luiszimbron2 the sound and options of Noire seems more like what I'm looking for. Piano sounds, in my opinion, are a matter of taste. I'll try Noire soon, hopefully

Alex Herrero True. I was waiting on purchasing Garritan for a while. I’ve been wanting a CFX piano. I’ve been using Ravenscroft for several years now and love it for fast stuff but I love how you can make Noire darker with a touch of a knob. Those sub samples are gold too!

Beautiful playing! Which preset/presets would you personally recommend for classical style of music?
@InTheMixReviews2 жыл бұрын
Thanks. All 3 presets in this video are suitable for Classical music. There's also one called 'Extra body' if i'm not mistaken. That one particularly sounds good with Rachmaninoff piano works.
@Thadnill2 жыл бұрын
@@InTheMixReviews Thanks for the reply! And yes the "extra body" sounds lovely! What is your opinion on the "felt" presets for classical style, any particular that you like?
@InTheMixReviews2 жыл бұрын
@@Thadnill Honestly I haven't really used the felt presets all that much for that purpose. They're more convincing for pop, smooth jazz ...etc. It could also be that I haven't spent enough time with felt presets.

Hello, what is the model of the piano that you are using?
@InTheMixReviews Жыл бұрын
The keyboard that I'm using as a controller? It's Korg Kronos 2.

Oh Wow! Did you use any audio plugin, gain, EQ? 🤔This sounds incredible! 😊I have been through the presets looking for an amazing grand piano sound. But out of the box, The Grandeur always wins over Noire for me. Maybe I am doing something wrong.
@InTheMixReviews Жыл бұрын
I may have tweaked the sound within Noire, but it’s been a long time. I like Grandeur but Noire is my go-to piano when I need a general purpose piano.

Noire vs your internal Korg kronos pianos? Which is better?
@InTheMixReviews3 жыл бұрын
That won't be a fair comparison at all. I have Kronos piano videos. Feel free to check them out. If you'd like to know my opinion, you gotta give me more info.

Excuse the bad, I have a big question, according to you between Ivory II and all the Native Instrument pianos which ones are the best, because I have all those of the NI except Noire and I ask myself to take the others too .. this is consuming me I have been hoping for some time to help me
@InTheMixReviews5 жыл бұрын
It's really hard to say which one is the best. They're all playable and have their own unique character. Noire does offer that particles engine, so if that's something of interest, you won't find it with Ivory pianos. I have a lot of Ivory Piano videos as well. You can check them out and compare them that way if you like.

I'm buying this Vst tomorrow how do you get it to work on your piano though? I don't get what to do. Also how do u record the direct sound to a computer how do I make this sound come from my piano I really like the sound it's amazing
@InTheMixReviews3 жыл бұрын
Noire is strictly a sample library. You would need a Computer, DAW and a midi controller of some sort. If you’re not familiar with this concept, I don’t recommend for you to buy anything just yet. You might want to check out pro audio forums and how-to videos first and then decide on products.
@kaii71473 жыл бұрын
@@InTheMixReviews I've been looking into this the past few days and I have downloaded cakewalk DAW. I also have a relatively powerful pc. I use a 88key digital piano that has a built in Audio interface which allows for audio/midi signals to travel to and from the piano via only one direct usb from the piano to the computer. but the big question is does that count as a midi controller? And would this Vst work with my piano? The manual says it's USB class compliant
@InTheMixReviews3 жыл бұрын
@@kaii7147 Yes it does. In fact the synth workstation that is being used in this video is connected to the computer via a usb cable. If your keyboard/digital piano has a midi out, or usb midi built-in, you can totally use it as a midi controller.
