Your demos are incredible. Do you actually improvise "from scratch" while shooting the videos or do you conceptualize what you're going to play a bit earlier? I understand it all relates to familiar musical structures, but still the construction of the transitions, the re-application of melodies and their memorability is extremely well done.
@InTheMixReviews
@InTheMixReviews Жыл бұрын
Thanks a lot. So you're right about the structure. Once you have that down (as a general reference that one could use to identify a genre, style or whatever), then you can put your own twist to it, and pretty much decide how far you want to go from that structure. So these are all improvisations in a sense that they weren't planned note for note. Though the general idea came together after couple of takes. That last take is usually the most musical out of the bunch...because once you noodle around with the idea little bit, you can plan the sections, commit to short memory and take it from there.
@TLguitar
@TLguitar Жыл бұрын
@@InTheMixReviews That makes sense, because the encapsulation of the music shows thought behind it rather than "random noodling". I basically just play the guitar, but I do have a Casio PX-5S I purchased a while ago and did occasionally practice (I could somewhat play Chopin's Nocturne in E flat Major all the way through). The problem is that sheet music is rarely used with guitar so I was having issues with reading through pieces quickly enough. Quite a deterrent. I'm trying now to practice again but I'm aiming to start first with better associating the notes with the keyboard. What is your approach to reading chords/harmony? Do you identify the bass note and then take notice of all of the intervals above it? Perhaps you're accustomed enough to all different voicings so you immediately recognize what chord in what inversion is written?

Hi there. Nice sound, as sharp and deep as I like. I would enjoy this library, if not only one thing. I can't hear the same sound with my Korg SP-250 "konnekted to konnekt" as a MIDI keyboard. If someone can read this, please help! What I hear from software keyboard is a way much different than I can hear playing my Korg. In my case the sound is dull unless I stirke the keys with all my weight :) AFAIK that's all about velocity. Is there a way to use volume instead of velocity while plaing my piano connected to PC? Or whatever? Anything I can do to hear the sound like on this video? Any advice please

I would like to know what path you took (about studies) to improvise / compose so well. 🙏
@InTheMixReviews
@InTheMixReviews 3 жыл бұрын
The best way to get better at composition/improvisation is to take an analytical approach. Playing a piece and moving on to another without analyzing the content is the worst. The best thing is to analyze and understand the harmonic and melodic relationship between notes within a compositions and/or a style. After a while you'll see a basic pattern that contributes to a particular sound or style. Then after a while, it'll be easier to see how different composers twist and turn that basic mold and come up with their own unique sound. Eventually you'll get to a place where you can access that information mentally much quicker and mix it with your own ideas. It also makes it easier to get better at other styles that are completely different.

Hi, if i dont own a sustain pedal, is it still possible to put some ”release/sustain” into my playings from the grandeur? and does it sound too bad? or ok
@InTheMixReviews
@InTheMixReviews 3 жыл бұрын
Of course you can. You can just draw in the sustain/release values in your midi track. It'll be time consuming, but the end result would be the same. It wouldn't make any difference if you used an actual physical damper pedal to execute pedaling information, or you penciled it in. It's all midi anyway.

@@InTheMixReviews Im a newbie about this, i would like to know if there is a feature to fix this inside the interface of grandeur itself? like keyzone classic for example there i can fix some release sustain directly into my playings
@InTheMixReviews
@InTheMixReviews 3 жыл бұрын
I’m confused a little. Do you want to add the pedaling information in real time while you’re playing or add them after you recorded the performance?
@Sebastian-di1zi

You like more The Grandeur that Factory Pianos from Kronos?
@InTheMixReviews
@InTheMixReviews 5 жыл бұрын
Do I like the Grandeur better than the Kronos Pianos? I can't tell you that for sure. It really depends. For live performance and more rock sounding pianos, Kronos could be better. For classical solo stuff the Grandeur might be more convincing.

@@deineospiano4972 You can use Kontakt 6 Player, which is free. For DAW, you can use FL Stuido's trial version, also free. For recording with a VST these two should be enough.

Why would you wanna play a piano kontakt library on a Korg Kronos 88 with so many built-in great sounding piano patches ?! 🙄🤔

You’re asking the wrong question. Not every keyboardist or computer based musician owns a Kronos 88! Besides people have different tastes when it comes to stuff like this.

@@InTheMixReviews Don't get me wrong, performance and kontakt library quality are both outstanding, "sarcasm" was the intention, coz' I'm familiar with Kronos's piano engine quality. Anyway, thanx for the great demo video :)

Absolutely dadash! I have Kronos demoes published here as well. Personally, I like Kronos factory Piano programs. They’re very playable and sound great for many applications. Still they wouldn’t be able to compete with a number of specialized piano libraries that do nothing else but piano. The great thing about Kronos is that it provides all bread and butter sounds for almost all genres so you can play and compose without a computer. I’m very pleased with it and like the keybed as well 😀
