I would be remiss to not add that Bill was always charming and fun and truly dedicated to the music and getting it right, despite the demons. He was humble about his past and had a great laugh. RIP

Cool insights. From the interviews I’ve watched, he did appear to be driven by music, and definitely the need for it to be done right. Apparently his production abilities in the studio and on the live mixing board were amazing as well, how he translated what he heard in his head to the finished product. He had an incredible ear for it. His talent isn’t championed enough, IMO.

Billy was an amazing person. Going through all that crap in his life was really too bad. He could have been so much more! I am so glad that he got back with his family and played some shows with them.

Short and truncated but as far as I know pretty much bang on. I had the great pleasure of knowing and playing with Billy in the Billy Mitchell Trainwreck with Elmar Spanier on bass and it was an amazing experience. I learned so much and was always just amazed to listen and watch Billy as I played. Thanks Billy and band and Chris Nordquist for subbing me in when you couldn’t make the gig. I’m truly blessed for the experience. Marvin Walker

Thanks for sharing your experience, it does sound amazing. Sadly, the show is shorter than I would have liked it to be. I had more to say, but these shows are produced to be played on a radio program in Penticton, and I am allotted 12 minutes. As was the case here, it can be a challenge to say everything I need to in that span.

Thanks for this overview of Billy's life and career. There were other band lineups not mentioned here. In Edmonton in THE mid 70s..the Brian Festukian band was a country rock band that Billy was featured in. In Vancouver I replaced Lindsay Mitchell on guitar when he rejoined Prism. Colin James worked with Billy prior to me for a time but left to pursue his own career. Elmar Spanier was on bass and harmony vocals and Jay Bundy Johnson on drums. My tenure on guitar was mid 89 to 91. Danny Casavant
