In what was without question the loudest 'Front Window' I've ever captured, we take a ride behind new build Saint Class No. 2999 Lady of Legend along the Epping Ongar Railway, travelling from Ongar station to just outside Epping Forest.
The locomotive was visiting the line for their 'Festival of Steam' trilogy from it's home at Didcot Railway Centre. 2999 is a recreation of the GWR Saint Class, built using spare parts from 4942 Maindy Hall, and was completed in 2019. Since the engine's completion it has been seen touring various heritage railways around the country. The locomotive would prove to be a beast as it took on the EOR's steep grades and show just how loud GWR locos can really be!
