Hermuda Triangle can be difficult but nothing that just level grinding can't be at. Another Marona is absolutely frustrating in some battles. Which Phantom Brave are you playing?

I hope you didn't neglect speed.... Otherwise you just did what Trunks did against Cell.... You only need to imbue speed and attack to succeed. Use Failure dungeons for looting and building. Add extended time on a phantom NOT called a bottlemail as needed. Give skills as needed. Cracked weapon for Marona, confine it. Go beefy weefy Unga bunga on enemies.

@@EddieSpaghetti53 A lil bit clunky yes, but the main issue is the difficulty you have to be a hardcore veteran rpg player to play that one.

Same here mate haha i played it for around 400hrs cuz i totally enjoyed the island and grinding for levels for the titles, the game was addictive af haha

Damnnn I remember when it was released waaay back 2004 in PS2!! I played for hours even on PSP then eventually on Steam Version. Really glad to see that the project is still alive

the bigest weakness seems to be the combat animations. the old game had a vast amount of crazy battle skill animations.

ill be honest...this game seems more...girlish now...u can brarely see any male characters. it feels like they are pandering hard to a certain audience the first game had a much better amount of male characters

Do not play this one on switch. Ever. The game crashed on me *three times* while trying to access the DLC. Then it keeps crashing by doing basic things like changing my equipment. And I got a crash on the second floor of my first run in a dungeon. I can't believe they showcased this game on a Nintendo Direct only to give us a port this bad... again! Update: it can also crash in story maps, all of this is likely caused by a memory leak

i do miss the 2D sprites especially for Disgaea i just don't feel the series is the same without it but i guess for this i can see why its 3D

Can we cover that Ash's VA sounds like he recorded his lines in the bathroom or without enough warm up time to get back into voice acting. He sounds horrible for the first few chapters and while he does get better. It's clear he's the weakest link by a long shot.

I played the first Phantom Brave on ps2 when i was very young because i liked Disgaea. I found the game incredibly difficult, was i just bad or was the game actually difficult?

Yea…it’s not super user friendly there. Level grinding is needed along with understanding unit types, weapons and a bunch of other stuff. Matches can kinda feel like puzzles sometimes too

I’m not a big fan of SRPGs. Jeanne D’Arc is an exception. But I’ve tried Disgaea 1 and the Complete version of that game and didn’t enjoy it.

SRPG? Never heard of this term, they are usually referred to as tactical RPGs or TRPGs, at least that's what Mortisimal Gaming calls it, hes literally the only YT game reviewer who 100% completes his games before making a review which i completely respect, plus he understands 100% completion is so much more than a platinum trophy for most games, thats why a completionist and a trophy hunter are 2 completely different types of gamers, a trophy hunter only cares about trophies, where a completionist is much more concerned with actually completing the game, a trophy hunter just simply farms trophies and doesn't think the games themselves is all that important, where for a completionist farms games and the game he is completing is the most important factor

I've been calling them SRPGs for nearly 30 years. Both SRPG and TRPG have been used pretty interchangeably for decades, but I've always preferred SRPG since playing Shining Force on the Sega Genesis. It's pretty common.

Looks like the protags are all uninspired human-sues except for, like, the token furry guy who you guys never showed any footage of even being in a team, so I'm assuming he's non-viable, and if I recall correctly, you have to fight him before he joins like most token furries because you can't have a non-human exist without being oh-so inferior to the glorious human race. Not even the birds could avoid this crap. I guess I'll pass on this game.
