WOW what a huge step up from the first one! I started the 1st one when the 3rd one was about to release but I immediately stopped watching everything about the series to avoid some spoilers. Now that I’m wrapping up the first I’m so escorted to start this one! This was an excellent review, the thoroughness is MUCH appreciated. Thank you!

Never in my life i would have thought that these games are SO good. Started with Atelier Ryza 1 and expected a cheap AA JRPG. It wasn't! There are so many mechanics in the game, everything is crafted with so much care, i love the fighting system (especially in Ryza 2), the characters are so likeable and Rzya is such a sweet main character. I finished Ryza 2 just half an hour ago, after 90 hours of playing it, and now this series absolutely belongs for me to the big names in the JRPG genre, like Persona, Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest and many more.

90 hours dam lol It’s a game I want to play but the time oof too much I think
@theToonLink2 Жыл бұрын
@@samuelgonzalez-tovar3936 I beat it around 70 hours but that’s only if you kinda grind/farm for materials and try to make a lot of things using alchemy. I’d say you could probably finish it in about 50 or less if you toy with alchemy a lot less, tho you won’t be getting maximum potential gear (can still buy some of them at shops)

cheap aa is an oxymoron. jrpgs are often on smaller budgets to begin with. kind of locking yourself out of great games if youre only going by high budget, well known titles lmfao, actual drone behavior.

Great review! You mentioned quite a few important things other reviewers didn’t touch on at all, like the quest board, soundtrack, architecture/design, how many members in battle, etc... So excited that Gust delivered on this one! Can’t wait to play it~ I’m not into the thighs/fanservice so I’m glad Gust put real effort into the game itself (because we know they’re capable of it from their previous games/franchises) P.s. I love how you pronounce Ryza like pizza (Rait-za) 😋

Is there a combat guide video for this game? I'm new to this type of battle system and only used to direct real time action/hack n slash. Maybe you can make a basic guide for the battle system?
@NoisyPixelNews3 жыл бұрын
I might be able to do that. This week is incredibly busy, the low down is this: stock AP with normal attacks using O, then when you have enough AP, attack three times with O, press R1 and use a skill, your party members will often request you use magic or physical skills, if you listen to that your max AP will raise and they’ll do a follow up skill. Then if you want to get fancy, once your max AP hits 25 in tougher battles, you can chain together your skills, then Switch to your supporting character with L1, and unleash their skills. Hope that helps!

@HotDance No, I kinda get what you mean. The first Ryza had a good story “on paper” (in theory, it should have been great) but actually it felt very rushed and generic to me compared to past Atelier games. I think it’s because they cut down on the character events and development to just focus on the plot.

I loathe how the game is childish in tone yet uses blatant sexual fanservice focusing on the character's ass. It's a strategy to boost sales, but it breaks any immersion and makes both the developer and the community look bad to outsiders.

Remembered buying this and getting a refund cos I really can't stand the way Ryza walks and run. It looked so painful it tore me away from the game, which is a shame. It's unfortunate that the sequel still has that painful looking walk and run animation. Oh well, hope people still enjoy it.
@zoozbuh3 жыл бұрын
I don’t see what you mean by “painful”? Do you mean literally painful, or painful for you to watch? I’m not a fan of the fanservice direction Gust has taken with Atelier, and I literally eyeroll every time the camera pans to Ryza’s ass/thighs, BUT I would never let that stop me from playing. These games are genuinely great and are mostly wholesome and addictive, so I really hope you give it another chance. Or at least try the Atelier Dusk trilogy!!
