Professor Detective it would be $130 to be exact plus their profit obviously but that's not the point the thickness is the factor here if cheap then the phone would be thicker and priced like the first one but, if it thin like this one well it would be some engeneering challenge and it would cost $400 (plus their profit always)

This is something I support. This is an innovative niche in the phone market and I'd say at least 1 out of 10 people I know would buy something like this. The 4g hotspot is important, and the addition of a smart assistant is nice too. But Nokia used to make some of the best camera phones. I think people would pay more for that.

The original 8110 was actually a really good phone. My friend had one in the 90's. The built quality was phenomenal. And it definitely didn't have the spring in the slider, as it was better without it. Easy to open and easy to close with a thumb, much like we swap smartphones today.

Hello Something I have been in search for quite sometime is a connection with somebody that goes beyond vanity. It's very hard to do in this day and age. People can be, somewhat very superficial. On my quest to achieve this I have learnt a lot about human nature. It seems to me that those who are not given traits such as beauty or being wealthy are some of the nicest, kindest and generous people. While the "gorgeous" and well off seem to be the most arrogant and greedy people out there. Of course that's not to say there aren't beautiful kind people out there. I've been in the process of change for a while now and I have made some decent changes but don't you just hate it when people can't let go of your past mistakes. I saw your profile and it intrigued me. I wanted to learn more about who you are and what type of path you would like on in life. Can we talk?

In the original, which I had happened to proudly own, the keypad cover opened with a cool "shtunk" sound via a small button on the back. Also the two main buttons and the thumb scroll were available without opening the keypad cover, which let me make and answer calls, and read messages without opening the cover, which was a great idea, sadly not present on this version. And the build quality seemed much higher than on this one. Basically it's a bent bar phone with a chintzy plastic slide cover. 1/10 will not buy :D

I like this phone and the Nokia 3310. What i think is one main thing it is lacking is messaging apps like WhatsApp should be available ( there is no need for twitter or facebook)and a better camera cuz nowadays its kinda necessary to have them. I know these phones are not meant for that but i think including this would help develop more sales.

What is that smart feature OS? Glad they have upgraded from S30/S40. But still, want to see Symbian re-imagined. The classic feature phones deserve more smartness, power, apps, and multitasking of course. For what I loved my Symbian back then is specially because it could do multi-task, like I could literally pause my game and reply to a text and get back to the game instantly. Even if this one does have decent hardware, the software support is too limited. Symbian was already feature-rich at that time, thousands of apps, games, social apps, browsers, customizations, java support and all. Just bring it back from the dead. I would love to use opera/UC, facebook, maps, whatsapp and still get days-long battery life. If not Symbian, I think google should develop a super lite, tiny version of their android, with specially designed apps, specially for feature phones. These phones are limited these days, but surely not dead, even as a backup phone, people love to keep one. I still prefer the symian Snake btw -_-

joe .Brown I study business and this a good strategy by nokia, keep your name in the headlines, nostalgia. In South Africa where I'm from the 3310 was a hit and the brand name is back in people's minds. You may be looking at it from a 1st world perspective but the management at Nokia is paid to be smarter than keyboard warriors.

It is still good for their marketing, and also, they have to bridge the gap between feature phones and smartphones for the African market, for example. People there are not gonna jump straight from a feature phone to a smartphone (still too expensive for a lot of consumers), so they have to sell some hybrids.

237/5000 Juho Sarvikas hinted at the press conference that these phones, apart from covering the demand for feature phones, are destined to cover the nostalgia market. It's not a secret, even they said that when Nokia 3310 (2017) was launched at the past MWC; I maybe get your comment, because nowadays mobile market is focused on smartphones, but it forgets the consumers looking for basic stuff and developing countries.

What made the matrix phone actually cool was that it would slide down quick and automated (mechanically) by the click of a button which does not seem to be the case with this one. So if they really tried to make the matrix phone, for me, they missed the point.

LOoks cool but terrible design. The look was made for teens but its feature set such as the camera etc are trash. NOt sure the point of this phone.

TheProGamer 75 I would like this phone alot more if it had more juice and features. But if all you really need is a phone than I guess this thing might be great... But if you are willing to spend a bit more you can get a budget smartphone with far more capability.

Gavin Well, HMD (who makes Nokia phones) makes to both the people of the smartphone and feature pbone markets. There are still plenty of people around the world who still use feature phones, and not traditional smartphones. So, HMD's feature phones try to bridge the gap between them, by adding smartphone features to traditional feature phones. However, some of their feature phones, like this one, are also simply made for nostalgic purposes

VR Samsung matrix phone was cool with slide going upwards to reveal the screen. It was cool but no function, this flip cover had and still has a function. It keeps unintended dials in your pocket away, just one function.

They should make the new 8810 or 8850, It was very exclusive phones, simple but all the materials are top notch Signals very good, voice clarity are awesome that can only be beaten by their 9210 Communicator series

I might use this phone for while. It’ll be a great bridge to reconnecting to the real world, while still being connected to the cyber world, only it wouldn’t be so appealing. I miss these old designs. Never had the opportunity to own this phone, so I’m going to try it out.
