Which is why a lot of "tech enthusiasts" panned the device: it was thick, had okay battery life and they hated that it ran on Windows Mobile. It was such a shame as Nokia put out some pretty good devices back in the 2010s but the reviewers turned a lot of people off from them. I was very impressed with the Nokia Lumia Icon/ Lumia 929 or 930. Again, it was given mediocre ratings mainly for the thickness and Windows Mobile. It had a really good camera (one of the best at the time but of course the tech media had to fellate Apple) and I kept thinking "how cool would it have been if it had a xenon flash?"

So true, it introduced us to the dark mode, Samsung just this year allowed for raw image capture and ahs been increasing the camera zoom last 3 years. And it has the best camera interface toggle period.

Oh man. The 1020 was amazing. I had the pleasure of playing with one when it came out and did a review of it (you can check it out if you'd like). I loved how the manual controls would just slide out giving you full control. But I think Nokia held themselves back by putting all their eggs in Microsoft's basket. MeeGo should have got all the love and development it deserved, and I'm pretty sure they could have made Windows Phone devices as well. Nokia will always be dear to my heart

Microsoft did Nokia a total disservice seeing how the Lumia 1520 came out in the same year yet sported a much more advanced Snapdragon 800 which would have easily made the camera of the 1020 much faster. Why Microsoft didn't wait to release a better device was beyond me. They made so many mistakes with Windows phone it's a shame.

Hey Abdullah, it's been quite a long time since I've commented on a video I know. Just wanted to let you know that I managed to get my hands on a NEW IN BOX 1020 on ebay from a seller in HK. Just unboxed it and man seeing the yellow up close for the first time(only ever saw the white in person before) is amazing I'm glad I chose it. So eye catching and a really good way to compliment the curves and angles of the phone. And before you ask, no the battery has not bloated and it charges up just fine. Truly amazing how well kept moisture wise the area this thing was kept in. If you have any questions I'm always happy to respond

@@basithindianoor1527 Lumia 1520 is not 1020's successor. It's a completely different model targeted for people who want a huge phone (phablet). The Lumia 1030 was supposed to be the successor of the 1020 but I'd say that would have been a downgrade based on the leaked prototype. It didn't have the Xenon flash and the sensor was much smaller both in resolution and physically. My guess is the camera would have been really similar to what Lumia 930 has

I've had about 13 Nokia phones and my all-time favorite was the 1525.. bought two of these and use my white 1525 for 3 years and bought a second Red phone which I still have. I remember another Nokia bar phone that had with symbian platform and party lights on the side of the phone that flashed when the phone rang. I miss the windows platform! Nokia makes one of the best phones out there which I think are underrated. Everyone seems to flock to Apple, Samsung. or a Pixel phone.

Excelente. Nokia fue el mejor. Tuve el Nokia N8, Lumia 920, el 1020 y el 1520, hermosos equipos, incomparables y novedosos diseños. Lo mejor en cámara y, a mi parecer, lo mejor de lo mejor en sistema operativo. Nokia Belle del N8 (antiguo Symbian, revolucionario SO) y el incomparable Windows Phone que se encaminaba a Windows multiplataforma (lo que ya estamos viendo en W11). I miss times when there was inovation every year, but I guess that's how it goes. I just got Sony Xperia 1 iii to get as similar of a camera experience I had with this beautiful Lumia 1020. It doesn't disappoint, it makes me appreciate things around me once again, love taking pics. But it does not replace the Nokia really... Especially that timeless design inside and out. However, Sony's design is special in its own way as well. I will struggle to go back to iPhone and probably won't. (I mainly used iPhone ever since my Lumia)

Nokia windows phone never disappointed me. I loved the durability and the look that slightly made them so special and unique from all the other brands. Wish nokia could have made these quality phone but in android version and it would have been great. If nokia would relaunch that design but in android version, it would be definitely be my next phone. You can be sure. I'm the kind of guy that when it comes to phone, would definitely not owning same and monotonous brands as the others. If in my family, there is 99% made of huawei, samsung, xiaomi,, oneplus or i don't what the f***ing brands, i would be the 1% using a nokia. Love nokia💕💕💕
