hey... this vid was very very good... my 800 took a dive in a river yesterday while on a hike. used ur vid to open up, blow dry and clean up internals and re-assembled. IT WORKS! :D only problem i encountered was removing the screen, there is a white strip around the screen, under the glass and glued to it I believe. When using a separation device to clear the tabs, i was only clearing the screen, and not this white strip. End result, I had to use a piece of clear tape hole part of screen.

I dropped my phone and had the volume jogger always connecting, which basically meant the phone became useless. Followed your instructions and they were perfect. Thanks! The glue-hairdryer-prising stage is quite terrifying and takes a lot more heat and force than one could reasonably expect. The fact that it all snaps back together afterwards make one wonder why they use glue at all!

Fantastic video! I always thought that smartphone assembly (especially after watching iPhone disassemblies) is a very hard process, but with Lumia 800 it's just 8 well-placed screws! Amazing! At least I know that this phone can be repaired at home if enough patience and attention is provided. Thank you!

Congratulation Bro. After i broke my screen, Nokia's assistance asked 150 Euro to change the touch screen, after 2 weeks they called and said it's irreparable... I was advised to buy it again (a new one) :) I bought on internet a touch screen for 35 euro i did the work waching your video, and now my phone is perfect. Nokia 800 Great job to us

Thanks for the video. This was the fifth mobile phone I have repaired using your videos. Nokias are so easy to repair compared to for example HTC! I replaced the broken micro-usb connector port so it can be done but you'll need a good soldering iron and a flux pen.. The micro-usb port is connected with really strong soldering... I just used brute force to break the old port and removed old tin mechanically. My iron wasn't hot enough to melt it.

Thanks! Great tutorial! my phone was damaged by water a year ago, tried to dry it from the outside, and eventually gave up so i left it in a drawer for a year and today i decided to give it one last try; i followed your instructions, took it apart, cleaned everything with a can of compressed air,(from a pc cleaning kit) put it back together and now it works just fine....not sure how long the battery is going to last though

Dear Sir, What an amazing video you posted on KZbin. Everything is so interesting, detailed, realistic and understandably explained by you. If you are watching the video from Nokia themselves, when you dismantle something ridicules, you have to throw it into the basket. Like all the screws, you may not use them again (ok, some of them have a kind of loctide glue on it), but they are reusable. Further on dismantling the Lumia 800, according to them, you have to discard and throw away also the following components, like: USB door, the proximity connector, the ear piece, the flash boot (don’t use them again) the repeatedly say. The way they are explaining everything, I thing you better replace the whole phone at once. I’m glad to have seen your video, and at some part you are even more careful then Nokia! By the way where are the processor and memory flash drive situated? I have the version Windows 7.8, any idea how to upgrade it to Windows 10, with Internet explorer 11, as nowadays a lot of sites can’t be reached anymore, as well as WhatsApp, Facebook and many others are not supported anymore. Also in the front on top of the phone where you see the name NOKIA, on the right corner on the same level you can’t nearly see it, but there is a little, more or less transparent window (about 1,5 mm on 4 mm), can you tell me what’s the utility of it? Hereunder follows the most important information I need for the moment, please (asap) if it is possible: One thing hasn’t been explained by anyone of yours and this is the USB loading connector, which is broken on my phone, and has to be replaced. I have seen that the USB loading connector is situated on the mainboard, next to head phone ear piece. Is it soldered on the mainboard, or can it be removed by eclipses, is it glued on a kind of a circuit print plate ore on a foam membrane? Before rebuilding everything, can- and may I test the loading voltage coming from the transformer through the USB cord, directly on the USB connector I replaced? Where can I measure it with a voltmeter, as I think there will be a lot of connections like, for the data transfer, electricity and information from the battery load and -heat! How many volts can or must be expected? Can- and may I control before rebuilding the screen also the voltage on the battery connector? Many thanks in advance for your already posted video, and your time taken in answering my questions. Best regards, Christian, writing from Belgium. E- mail address: Christ.thys@gmail.com

Thank you friend, I read on some sites about unlocking the DLOAD Nokia, I think a bit laborious to do the procedure, yes is possible, but you have to have a little knowledge of Hardware, because it will be need to be done a few welds combined with such "ATF BOX" and a Soft called "advance turbo flasher" The Software part would be for me more easy, but it comes in Hardware is not really my area, but anyway thank you very much for your attention.

Hello! Great tutorial! Works so easy! My Lumia fell on the left upper corner, the screen is badly damaged. When trying to charge it/ connect it to the PC, it vibrates from time to time, Windows does not recognize it properly. When opening I couldn't determine any obvious damage. Do you think it is worth buying a new LCD and hoping this will be enough? Or is there most likely more damage? Is it common that nothing works anymore with a broken screen? Regards, nice work here!

I changed my Lumia 800 housing from a magenta to a black one following your excellent video. Two things: 1- When disconnecting the battery cable from the motherboard, I noticed a spark (discharge), I was wondering if that was common. 2- I accidentally turned the phone on while handling the phone to install the screen. Not knowing if the phone was on (it was) I installed the screen anyway. The phone works perfectly. Just wondering if I might have caused any damage to it.

Hi LE55ONS great videos, I have learnt a lot watching them. Thankyou I have a Nokia Lumia 800 where the power button dosn't work. Thanks for the well detailed video! I've got a problem with my phone. One day it started thinking the head phones are always connected. Service said they won't fix it on warranty and that I have to pay for the socket change (or actually the whole body, because they claimed the head phone socket cannot be changed). I told them no to do that (too expensive vs. the value of the phone) and got the phone back. I unplugged the head phone socket and reassembled but still the same problem? Any ideas?

05:20 - It's not the vibrating module. It's a spring that pushes out sim card tray. Possibly with a switch, but it may be purely mechanical component. You can see it working when the tray is inserted.

check the pin connector, mine's broken on my lumia so wont charge, this is a common problem with lumia phones I've found as they just break when putting in the charger. If the pins are still intact try to put your phone on a hot water bottle or rub it while pressing the on button and having it on charge. When the phone goes dead, sometimes the battery is that gone it doesn't even recognise that you are wanting to charge it. The battery for these phones reacts to heat and starts charging.
