Apex Legends Guide: Wraith Edition

Doing this Wraith guide felt extremely difficult for some reason. This character is the staple for Apex legends and one of the most important legends competitively. I know there is some stuff I missed like kidnapping and what not. I tried making this guide to fit all players. If I missed some stuff just let me know or if you aren’t vibing with the video please be honest. I always want to deliver the best content for you guys and this one especially was a tough one lol. Loving the content as always. One suggestion I have is maybe have more gameplay/real examples of what you say to do in your guide. It would be greatly appreciated by some of the more middle-skill players (like myself) who know what to do in theory, but have a hard time actually doing it. @Connor Nelson Idk it's for sure situational, but i woudn't say it's hard all the time. Sometimes if you go for it you get the perfect setup, they're crouching or standing still in a building, shielding, thinking they're completely safe, aiming at you while standing still or moving predictably. I thought it was impossible before i tried but out of the 20-50 times i've done it i hit about a third or a fourth? And that is not bad at all, it's almost always a free kill and always a big chunk cuz your team should be waiting to fire on them.

The portal lasts 60 seconds, you can use the in game timer when you drop the portal so you know exactly when it's going to disappear

Gatcha - This is somewhat similar to loot boxes, inducing players to spend in-game currency to receive a random virtual item. Most of these games are free-to-play mobile games, where the gacha serves as an incentive to spend real-world money -wiki Think of Fate GO, Arknights, Genshin, Honkai, etc...

Crouch portal is also a big thing about wraith that not many people know. Enemies come out of your portal crouched and can't get up unless they jump or uncrouch which they don't do cuz they're confused / happens so quick. And easy to shoot , QuakeV made a really good video on how to do it.

This is amazing. I've just started playing APEX Legends, I've played League for more than 8 years. I've always played assassin champions so I instantly decided to pick Wraith when I saw the skillsets of all legends. It amazes me how the playstyle is so similar with Wraith even when the games are so different. There's a champion called LeBlanc in LoL who has an ability that works exactly the same as Wraith's ultimate ability, except that it works just for her instead of the entire team. Thank you for the long guide, I'm looking forward to those pro vod analysis you mentioned in the end!

@@matt3890 LeBlanc has went through a rework, where her ult would let her use any of her basic abilities or create a clone anywhere on the map by re-casting R; eventually this rework was too unhealthy for the game (broken) and they reverted her. The current LeBlanc's ultimate copies the last ability you used just like how it used to before that weird rework.

also: if you have your tactical activated while you’re trying to place a portal, you can cancel the tactical early by placing your portal and surprise people; and the animation after placing a portal is faster than after leaving your tactical

yes, if you still dont get it after opening 500 packs you'll be guaranteed an heirloom in the next pack. (thats what i've heard)

0.01% chance in every pack to get it or guaranteed after 500. Your 499th pack would still have 0.01% chance too. It doesn't increase your chances the more packs you open

That works but it's very very situational. it only works if they are distracted by your team members or another team and it also means you can't shoot heal or do anything to help your team at that point so very niche, don't practice this

as far as Heirlooms go in order to get them I suggest doing a combination of things that get you packs to get it (worked for me) that means: 1: get the battle pass 2. win lots of matches 3. buy some packs 4. get high damage and high kill games so you can level up faster (if not at level 500) all of these get you packs and your chances of getting shards increases by 1 each pack you open

To add to the portal thing. You can learn crouch portals if you wanna take your kidnaps to a whole different level. Also if you're trying to portal a far away downed teammate to you put the portal in the air. This will change their height state and they'll move faster and be able to jump. It's really weird so abuse it while you can.

How to cancel your tactical Q. Say you accidentally hit your Q and want to cancel it before you go into phase. During the 1 second animation before you're in phase, you can cancel your tactical ability by clicking your ultimate button. This works best if your ultimate is still not fully charged. If you have your ultimate already you can still do the same and then just cancel your ultimate like Noko explained. I find myself using this when I think I need to Q out but then my teammates show up and help me fight. I also use it when I fat finger lol.

One more fun thing to do with portals is if you are getting chased by a team or you are outnumbered in any way, you can use your portal and enter a building and as soon as you enter through the door you drop it right there so they can't come in through that sertain door because they will always be sent back, so you can focus on one less ways for them to enter, at least for a little while

Another pro wraith tip: You can actually swap weapons during the portal or even the tactical by opening your inventory and swapping there. If you can do it quickly, can be very useful.

A little tip for wraith is when you are 1v1ing a Revenant his silence will stop the end animation of her Q or L1 so walk into the silence when safe.

One super important tip is to stop depending on pressing Q the whole time when in danger you have to help your teammates rotate with you or walk up to a building and STOP STOP STOP using Q to move to another open area your gonna die either way look for the closest cover stay in it and if your getting pushed you can probably win because there gonna push out in the open and your in cover so keep poking or back out more if you have Q and this is for people who play with pre-made squads or pred lobbys ive seen alot of wraith mains do these mistakes and one More thing dont Q mid fight even if your one hp help out your team as much as you can go back let them be ahead of you for you to pop a battery then boom back in

I think kidnapping might even be better with a crouch portal so when they go through they are stuck in crouch. You don't even need to really put it behind them, they might take it thinking they can get an easy kill on a low wraith when your teammates are there waiting.

Horizon is THE movement character. Any character can be run like wraith, but not every character can be run like horizon because of the passive smooth movement and perfect accuracy in air.
