Thank you, Adam for another informative video showing what the Nokta Double Score is capable of. Pity that the older pre-decimal copper coins detected were so worn. Cheers!

Hi Adam the Simplex Ultra in 99 tone on the pebbles/ beach is well worth trying .Locks on to targets with some depth to them too .Many of which were undetectable in beach mode for some reason .Hope your well looking forward to your next video 👍🏼

Thank you for your reply. Much appreciated. Aniother question when im out with the simplex: Would you recommend that I save my money to uograde to an Ultra or Double Score OR stick with the simplex and buy either a sp24 or sp35 coil (I detect mainly on pasture land but also on ploughed fields if im on a club dig)? Just not sure if i see more bang for my bucket with newer technology or stick to the simplex but pimp it up a little, so to speak! Thank you again. Best wishes for your detecting in 2024. Neil

The Simplex+ is a beast of a machine for sure and you won't regret the additional coils... ...however... The new generation somehow manage to out perform the + by quite a margin. I've taken the Ultra and the Double Score on fields I've done to death with the + and found a LOT more still.

Hi Adam what headphones do you recommend forcthe double score?around the £50 mark? Thank you!
@DTEKTSUSSEX10 ай бұрын
Hi! To be honest I just use the Nokta branded ones which are really good. You just need to make sure they are low latency Bluetooth headphones. As long as they are, any headphones should be fine 👍
@neillambert617610 ай бұрын
I have a simple plus with wireless headphones. If I was to upgrade to the ultra or double score can I still use my simplex headphones / will they pair with either the ultra or the double score or do I have to buy specific wireless headphones for these newer models? Thank you
@DTEKTSUSSEX10 ай бұрын
Hi, They won't I'm afraid. The newer models have upgraded to Bluetooth connections. This does, however, mean you can use any low latency Bluetooth headphones so you're not restricted to Nokta specific ones 😊

what kind of depth does it get in average soil conditions?
@DTEKTSUSSEX9 ай бұрын
There's no such thing as average soil conditions. From my experience with it so far it has an impressive depth to it. Comparible with the Legend 👍

NIce hunt Adam ! I’ve used the legend for a year now my first an only detector I’ve found lots and it’s paid for itself but when I set the machine up I I still have no idea about frequency change ground balance or noise cancellation any help would be appreciated
@DTEKTSUSSEX10 ай бұрын
Hey Gary! OK...so on the Frequencies, M1 favours high conductors and is generally what most people run in. M2 favours low conductors and M3 is better in wet conditions. Ground balance and noice cancellation are there to eliminate ambient chatter. Ground balance calibrates the machine to deal with chatter caused by mineralisation in the ground. Noise cancellation does the same for local EMF. It's a good idea to do both regularly while you're out to ensure you get the best performance 👍

Adam how do you think the double score compares to the ultra?
@DTEKTSUSSEX10 ай бұрын
So far I'd say quite similar on land. Definitely beneficial for the beach. It should be gaining a little on depth and target quantity but it's difficult to quantify after just a couple of land hunts.

Interesting watching the Double Score. Little blue thing looks like a battery terminal connector thingy. I find them in red and yellow as well. The 2 old coins look like pre decimal pennies. 💰

What do you set the iron filter at, I have the double score but I’m new to detecting been out about six times so far, I have a hundred year old abandoned amusement park with a lot of iron that I just started hunting found a 1955 wheat penny my first the other day so cool thanks
@DTEKTSUSSEX9 ай бұрын
Hi, Leave the IF set to default (3) at the start of the hunt. If you're finding the site has too much iron interference just notch it up until it's under control 😊👍

is the double score better than a simplex and if so, how much better is it? (in your honest opinion) TIA!
@DTEKTSUSSEX10 ай бұрын
The best machine is the one that suits the detectorist and the conditions the best. Generally, a simultaneous multi-frequency machine like the Score will find more targets and they'll be deeper. It will also handle mineralised ground (especially beaches) better than a single frequency machine like the Simplex. They are, however, much more susceptible to interference. The Simplex Ultra (for example) is still an absolute BEAST of a machine. Stable, powerful and robust. Either will serve you well. Just make sure it's the right fit for the detecting you're doing 😊👍
@stephenmunt16249 ай бұрын
Would it be possible to teach what ground balace is and how to do it on the double score. Im still quite confused how you set it up especially on slightly uneven ground. Also the best M mode. I use M3 quite a bite as it seems to pick up less chatter. Thank you
@DTEKTSUSSEX9 ай бұрын
Hey Stephen! Always happy to help 😊 Ground balance is a way to tune the machine to the mineralisation in the ground you're detecting on. A metal detector is designed to pick up metal...which is a mineral. So highly mineralised ground can interfere, cause chatter etc. Now, the Score is a simultaneous multi-frequency machine and this kind of detector handles most mineralisation well so it's not always necessary to ground balance it. But, equally, it doesn't hurt. Noise cancellation does the same thing but for local EMI and tends to me more important. To ground balance the Double Score, enter the settings menu and select the ground balance icon (first one). Pump the coil up and down above the ground 5 or 6 times. Done 😊 On the frequency modes, M1 favours higher conductors, M2 favours lower conductors and M3 is designed for particularly wet (and therefore more conductive) conditions. I tend to use M1 where possible and M3 only if the ground is very wet. You'll get more depth and better targets generally in M1. Hope that helps!
