@JerseyDigs ..all the downloads and upgrades and different versions, yeah,yeah(but that's the 'new' age world we are in huh). I try not to let all the 'new' tech 'drown out' the basic oldschool principles of MD. Don't get me wrong I'm sure all the bells and whistles may actually make target I.D'n a lil easier thus speeding up your search/hunt time,but I'm currently swing 'n a Simplex+ fresh out the box no upgrades and I believe I'm getting about a foot on a dime..and I want a lil more dept.So if all is well I plan on upgrading to a Legend one day and this upload has helped me with my choice. Thanks again JD, I wish you much success with your channel and your finds out in the field...

@byronrichards3001 I agree. I spent my first few years doing this on a bounty hunter so all the settings were a learning curve for me hence these videos lol. I then had a simplex+ myself and loved that detector but the legend proved more useful regarding gold finds. Simplex is an amazing machine just not at saltwater beaches. HH

I think if you adjust your audio gain “AG” this will help with some of your depth with the faint signals as well. Just don’t blast the volume if you up the AG don’t want to blow your ears or speakers out
@timbenham51611 ай бұрын
Ag is just a volume if you crank it up you won't be able to tell how deep it is and it doesn't effect the depth at all 0.

Thanks for the video. Though I had a question; at the end of the video where you show the last find using the settings you chose, I’m not sure how the threshold helped in locating the coin. Can you explain that a little bit more?
@JerseyDigs7 ай бұрын
Hey sorry for the late reply here. I wouldn't say so much it helped locate the coin but rather increase the ability for it to be detected. Threshold seems to work better on virgin, non planted signals that are deep. Since making this video, I've heard others say that the threshold on the legend isn't a true threshold and doesn't do much. But in my experience with it deeper signals were able to be detected. Hope that helps lmk. I don't use it much lately and have been toying with deep targets. I typically increase it depending on how deep the finds are or I've already rid a site of shallow targets and now am trying to see what's deeper.
@drewflesner573910 ай бұрын
Would you recommend running 4khz if you are strictly coin shooting? Thanks for everything!
@JerseyDigs10 ай бұрын
Hey Drew, so from what I gather 4khz would be better suited for larger coins. I typically find myself in m1 or 10khz when coin sniping. But majority of the coins I get are dimes at about 9in depth. Usually does the trick! I'll have to toy with 4khz more before I can really give a definitive answer!
@MrBottlecapBill8 ай бұрын
@@JerseyDigs I also find M1 deeper on coins. 4hkz actually loses a bit of depth compared to M1 which is strange.
@JerseyDigs8 ай бұрын
@@MrBottlecapBill that's definitely odd. I still haven't messed around much with 4khz. Lately I've been running it in 10-15khz and having good results.

@JerseyDigs5 ай бұрын

@ryokaroumiyamoto417410 ай бұрын
Hi man, i want to ask you how depth the machine can scan the ground?
@JerseyDigs10 ай бұрын
Hi, On the stock coil you can get about a foot of depth. Typically, the size of the coil directly relates to how deep it will be able to detect. Hope this helps!
@willrohan725610 ай бұрын
Turn your threshold up just a tad higher than the normal setting. In the 70's - 90's we found that doing so would give a bit of depth increase. Not too loud, or you won't be able to distinguish the good targets from the hum. A change in pitch as you go over a deep target gives you the choice of investigating it (or not) further. The change in hum will be slight, but noticeable to you after a while.
@JerseyDigs10 ай бұрын
I've come to find that setting it from 9-15 has been really fruitful for those deeper signals. It's rare I change it from that. But setting it there combined with pitch tone has been great to me.

@JerseyDigs11 ай бұрын
Nokta rarely shares dates when they're going to release something. I believe they first called it boost mode, someone called it beast mode and that's what caught on. Seems like it could transmit more power to the coil. I'd be interested to use a mode like that but wonder how it hurts battery life.

Threshold is really good when your on a site that's been hunted out, by running the Threshold you can hear the break in the sound as you pass over the ground, that's how you know there is a deep target, you will not get VDI numbers or any audio other then Threshold break. That's how experienced detectorist find the best and deepest finds they are searching deep and slow!
